trade rumor: Starks and 2012 draft pick to bengals for palmer. rumor...

i'm not even sure starks pulls a 3rd round return...he's coming off a down year i could see it being a 4th even...in which case you just keep him unless you package him in a scenario like this palmer one

nah bro, you are underestimating Randy Starks. The guy is only 27 years old, coming off a year being named to the Pro Bowl. He has a very reasonable contract.

If you are placing Langford at 2nd round value, you can easily place Starks there as well. The guy is a DT in a 4-3 or a DE in the 3-4 that can get to the QB. Those guys are always valuable.

guys want to talk about firing the coach and GM so casually. if we do that you're once again stuck in another 2-3 year loop (at minimum) while the new guy(s) start trading/drafting the players they want for their system. we are in perpetual building mode. at some point we just have to go with what we have. If Henne doesn't pan out this year, you trade him away for whatever 7th round pick you can get, trade for a FA qb to stop gap and please use our first pick on a QB. (rinse and repeat until we have a real franchise QB)

I never ceased to be amazed that Dolphins fans think Merling has value around the league. A poor player just coming off a major injury who beat his pregnant wife... why yes, there's certainly a shortage of those guys around the league. I'm sure people are just chomping at the bit to give up a third round pick for him!

With Merling's backround, it sounds like he is a perfect fit for the Bengals!

you won't get a 2nd for starks...not coming off of 2010

This place would be a war torn area if Miami were to resign Chad Henne after "not panning out". OMG, I would grab some popcorn for that. I know off topic, but just had a thought

Henne is a Free Agent after this year

Im not bashing the OP but what other predictions has this guy made that came true?

The only one was Dolphins take Pouncey with the #15 pick in the draft but a lot of people had that one pegged already.

you guys see that back shoulder throw in the end zone from rodgers to greg jennings saturday night??? the cb had no chance...none...that throw was a freakin marvel

that kids rediculous
To think that Saban passed on him for Ronnie Brown :rimshot:

If the Phins ARE trying to negotiate with Mike Brown, it sure would explain why Sparano keeps emphatically endorsing Henne even though based on play, Moore deserves an open competition.

I think you would be surprised what a team in desperate need of a defensive lineman would give up even for a player like Merling. He is said to be doing pretty good in camp, he is young and has starting experience. The team got him with a 2nd round pick, and I don't think a 3rd or 4th round pick is that crazy.

Players "values" never really seem to match public perception. Kevin Kolb went for a 2nd round pick and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Randy Moss once went for a 4th round pick.

Do you remember the name Brad Bedell? A lineman for the Dolphins in 2003 who was a backup, never played and was about to be cut at the end of training camp. The Dolphins were able to swing him in a trade for a 7th round pick. A player that was about to be cut that most teams viewed as just a body fetched value in a trade. It only takes one team, and you might be surprised what Merling could get.

and i'm gonna be in the minority on this but i don't believe the orton things dead...i just find it hard to believe that ireland and tony will tie their wagons to the qb they wanted to replace pretty much from the halfway point on last year...

someones coming...i just don't know who yet but the orton things not dead imo
