Lets put all this trade rumors to rest..

I have a very unreliable source close to the team and he tells me:

a) Feeley will be cut.
b) Ricky is going to Tampa
c) Marty Booker is going to the Jets

in return, we'll get two top QB prospects Brian Griese from Tampa and Jay Feidler from NY..

Can someone help me I have fallen and I can't get up:roflmao:

booker hasn't done anything here and ricky is a joke, if a team's starting back goes down ricks stock skyrockets!! so i think a relaible starting qb would be well worth is... something like

T.O.- to san diego
brees to miami
booker and ricky to philli...now thats not a far fethced trade...IMO

There is no way in Hell San Diego trades Brees before this season...they are a legit contender if he continues to play like he did last season. No way the turn over the job to Rivers unless Brees reverts back to his pre-2004 form.

what good is a new QB going to do us at this point? I dont think he can come in here and learn enough to be ready. I dont like it.

I agree totally. We need a QB but he won't help us this year unless it is late in the season. As for trading Booker, I would be against it. With our new offensive style using a lot of 3 wide, I feel we need to keep Booker. I do feel however that if Boston continues to play like he has so far he could end up being the #2, or maybe even #1 before it is all done.

RW and Booker will remain here for the 2005 season and probably beyond...

agreed

Gus will be fine once the O-line starts doing there job. Dump Feeley now!

Not really all that cheap for a number 2 maybe number 3 reciever. He will make 2.9 million this year. That is more than the rest of our recievers combined.......boston.gilmore.mann.thompson(who took a pay cut to stay),newson davis welker.

Only JT Zach and Madison make more. His contract is double that of Chambers. Do you really think he is worth our fourth biggest contract?

As long as Marty remains the #2 starting receiver, 13.3 million in salary over 4 years is good value because we have absolutely no bonus money tied up in the salary cap with his contract. Marty's bonus money was paid for by Chicago when he was their #1 receiver.
In comparison, our #1 starting receiver Chamebers will be paid 13.45 million in salary over the next 4 years, but we also paid him 10.5 million in bonus money.

He may be our 4th largest salary for 2006, but not our 4th largest contract when counting bonus monies.

I agree here. We have a potent passing attack because Linehan (thank GOD he is our coordinator) has the tools available to him. Why would we cripple the core by trading away a consistent player that has gamebreaking ability? I ask that because Boston is looking great, but what if something freakish happens and please save me Gilmore argument, he is good real good, but not ready to be #1 or #2 just yet.

It's always possible especially with Boston really coming on. I don't think that Philly would mind adding what would be their number 1 receiver. That is if TO keeps up his antics.

Booker and Ricky for Philly's Number 2. There is about a 2.3% chance of that happening though.
how and when did boston "come on"? Even though booker has been missing from the preseason, he is still more proven to us than Boston. Boston has only had 4 catches, guys..... 4 catches! for 38 yards. Booker only has 2, but for 31 yards. Booker has also seen less field time than Boston.

Maurice Mann has had 7 catches, Diamond 5, and Holmes 5. Does that mean we should keep those guys and dump McMike and Chambers (only had 3)? no, it doesn't.

I think Chambers and Booker are our #1 and #2, and Boston needs to prove himself more than just 4 catches before he can assume the #3 WR role.

I wouldnt mind having a new talented QB coming here now and learning the system and being a #2 behind Gus. I have lost my faith with Feeley and if Gus gets injured, what do we have?
