If you watch enough film on him you will see that he had a great arm first of all...and accurate.

I'm sorry but a guy who has a 50.1 careeer comp. % and 173tds and 220ints is NOT an accurate passer.

Pure qbs marino is number one ...but....you have to give consideration to montana, young, namath, farve, and i know some are gonna hate this BRADY.All these qbs are very good and all but marino has the ring to prove it.some of them have multiple rings. And it does mean something to have won a superbowl, that cannot be discounted, having said that there were many that have won the big game who are not in any way top 5 qb's... I give you dilfer, warner, doug williams, brad johnson, phil sims, mark rypien.

How many of those guys had a defense to help him out, and then how many of them also had some kind of a running game to balance the offense.....Danny had niether, yet he won more games then all of them.

please enlighten me on some other things i've said that would constitute a "hater" label towards the dolphins

Actually he does not need to go any further, you rating Marino 6th, says
it all. :goof:

Yeah, but that's the problem with "SB wins". 1981 was overall a poor year in the NFL - no dominate teams. 70's Fins/Raiders/Steelers/Cowboys were rebuilding. There were a lot of above-avg teams that had a chance in 81. Marino's 83, 84, 90, 92, 94 teams would EASILY beat the 81 niners.

 :sidelol: :lolcry: :roflmao: Montana, Unitas OK, maybe...Elway, and Brady? You need to stick to watching College football.

My top 5 would be something like this:

1) Marino

2) Moon - He gets overlooked but when you consider what he did in the CFL and NFL, just amazing. If he played his entire career in the NFL Dan would not hold as many records.

3) Fouts

4) Elway

5) Unitis

Once he blew out his knees he was far less effective...I'm talking about when he was healthy and at the top of his game. Dude had more knee operations than anybody in history. If you're talking about longevity then yeah...I can see your point. But he did have the guts to keep going out there with absolutely no wheels at all. When I mention Namath I'm thinking of the Healthy version not the broken down one.

Just wondering when was he ever accurate.... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/NamaJo00.htm

Don't even listen to this guy. He's a joke. Everytime I'm on here he has something negative to say about the Dolphins. He seems like he's so concerned with not being a homer, that he has become a hater.

That's kastof. I've learnt that whatever you say, he'll disagree with you. Learn to live with it

1: montana
2: unitas
3: elway
4: brady
5: marino

Brady????? Ahead of Marino???? The guy can win yes but he doesnt have the stats to even come close. Some of you guys really have ridiculous lists.

Here's mine
1) Montana
2) Marino
3) Unitas
4) Young
5) Elway

* Manning will eventually be up there but I find it hard to rank him just yet. Joe Namath should not even come close to making any list, he is one of the most overrated qb's of all time. Check the stats.

I disagree....I would take Namath, Marino or Staubach over any of them.

Great poinit here but I guess it's age....Staubach was the man, calm, strong, accurate...could pull a game out of his *** the last 2 minutes....I never saw Namath play but any man that comes out and predicts a W in the big game has balls - very Ali like, you gotta love that.

name some of the players on the niners offense in 1981. there's montana, dwight clark and........? their best runningbacks were Ricky Patton and Earl Cooper. not necessarily worldbeaters. they were ranked 19th in the league in rushing that year, btw. they had no running game and yet won the super bowl. why? JOE MONTANA. kinda like brady. the 2003 patriots had the 27th ranked running game, and still managed to blowout teams, as well as win all the close ones. it's very simple: montana and brady are ELITE quarterbacks. if you don't think so, you just don't know the facts. montana was great BEFORE his 2nd super bowl victory

They had a very tough Defense (Gave up 7th least amount of points)...as for players how about Randy Cross, Ronnie Lott, FRed Dean, Dwight Hicks, Freddie Solomon, Eric Wright. Oh and they also played a weak schedule being in the NFC west (Considered the weakest at that time), and getting a weak schedule from having a 6-10 record the year before....also did not hurt.

AS for Brady, he Faulk and Smith both ran for 600+ yards (that is 1200+ from those two), which is a luxury that Marino did not have. The Pats hhad the 7th best defense that year, and 2 of the 3 superbowls had to be decided by a FG.
