Many of the greats of all time at the QB position had star receivers. John Unitas had Raymond Berry and also the halfback Lenny Moore. Terry Bradshaw had Lynn Swann, John Stallworth and Franco Harris. Joe Montana had Jerry Rice, Marino had Duper and Clayton, Mahomes had Hill and Kelsie, Brady had Randy Moss, Welker, Manning had Marvin Harrison and Kurt Warner had Larry Fitzgerald plus the rest of his greatest show on turf. Let's stop pretending that it's a criticism that a QB requires excellent receivers. The classic example is Josh Allen before Diggs got there. Troy Aikman's Cowboys were also stacked with talent. The all time NFL rushing leader, Emmett Smith, plus Michael Irvin etc. They surrounded Aikman with talent.
Tua's offense has been a mash unit all year and he just keeps putting up numbers. The whole team has to get over the hump and start beating playoff caliber teams. He stayed healthy and has led us to where we are now. The next step the team has to take together on all 3 sides of the ball, offense, defense and special teams. It's not just on Tua, he'll do his job against Buffalo. The defense let the Ravens push us around the whole game. They better be ready for the Bills.

Certainly don’t deserve one but the question is will he take one to keep key pieces and stay in a place with McDaniel. I’d like to think so although the 35 million is a little ridiculous. I was thinking 5 year 210 with a 170 million guaranteed. Everyone is so focused on yearly average but it’ll more likely be about guaranteed money given his injury history. That puts him 7th right behind lamar and hurts for guaranteed money. AAV would be 10th between Josh Allen and Dak. Considering tax breaks in Florida as well still makes him a top paid qb and gives Miami some flexibility.
What does not wanting to pay Tua $50 million a year because he hasn’t proven he can win big games have to do with blaming him for everything? It’s completely two different things. Ya I know it's a team sport but he hasn't elevated his play in those games either. The ending of the Chiefs game is a perfect example of that. He choked on that final drive when they were trying to tie the game. Same goes for the ending of the Titans game after the defense collapsed and gave up two late touchdowns but he still had a chance to drive them down for a game winning field goal and couldn't get it done. So you are the one who is ignorant!

Let's see if he can do it without Hill and Waddle. Because, Tua needs everything to be perfect. According to them, missing 3-4 starters on Oline every week and 1 of his top 2 WRS is everything being perfect for Tua.

Do you honestly believe Grier, and more importantly Ross who desperately wants to win a SB while he's still alive will play chicken with Tua.

I wouldn't be surprised if an extension is announced during the playoffs this year. Heck, might even be announced an hour after Miami Beats Buffalo

Sorry but not happening. Plus if he did sit out all next season he would lose his chance to be a free agent in 2025. He will play on his 5th year option if he doesn't get a contract extension this offseason.
He has to prove he can win big games first. Then he has to prove he can win in the playoffs before even thinking about winning a Super Bowl. So am I okay with paying Tua $50 million a year if he continues to struggle against the better teams in the league? Hell no! So you would be okay with them signing him to a huge contract extension even if they lose to the Bills and Chiefs and he struggles in those games?

You and I have a diferrence of opinion on what "struggles" means.
Plus when you put into context what Tua has done against these better teams compared to other QBS, it doesn't show he struggles as much as you seem to think
Perfect example is the Bills game or 49ers last year. Are there games he struggles? Sure. But if we lose to a top team and Tuas performance ends up being a top 3 performance against that defense all season.... that's not struggling to me.
Again, yes, there have been games he struggled. But just vecause Miami loses to a top team, doesn't mean Tua struggled or played bad
But he has played bad in most of those games. He was bad against the 49ers and Chargers last year. He was bad against the Bills, Eagles, Chiefs, and Ravens this year. Ya the defense was terrible in the Bills and Ravens games but he didn't elevate his game either. I hope he proves me wrong this Sunday night and in the playoffs but until he does I don't trust him in big games. He can't carry a team like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and Jackson can. So that is why I don't think he should be paid like them.
