Tua Tagovailoa has given Dolphins answers they needed and earned new contract

Just Tua?

yes he needs to play well these next two games and ideally win those games. I will cut him slack if they lose in shootout but I wanna see Tua be a leader in these big games. I dont want to see him pressing/stressing when the other teams starts pulling ahead. the last game we saw Tua go into a shootout with opposing QB was week one of this year.

Last time I checked he is signed through 2024 and is scheduled to make around $23 million next season. Everybody seems to be in a big rush to sign to a huge contract extension this upcoming offseason. I would let him play out his current contract and then decide what to do based on how he performs the rest of this season and next season. If worst comes to worst they can always use the franchise tag on him in 2025.

This is an absolute no brainer. Sad that this fan base just continues to not see it. He leads the NFL in passing yards and completion %, he has thrown for more yards this season than anyone has for the fins since the mid 90's (it will likely be the mid 80's after Sunday), he's got something like a career 2 to 1 win ratio, he's starting at the pro bowl, he's a genuine leader and inspiration to this team. Lock his contract up as fast as you can because if you wait another year it'll only get more expensive. Crazy to think there seems like there was more support for Ryan Tannehill's extension, and he's not half the QB Tua is :(

I agree ...the longer we wait the worse it can get...Grier has got to get the house in order soon...

Well then you have this year and next to realize your dream, then your in for a long wait.

You don't replace the QB leading the lead in almost every passing category bc he hasn't won the big game yet. It's f***ing ridiculous. John Elway didn't win "big" games for years, did you think he sucked too?

That's right, if he fails, I support going with someone else into new SB window instead of giving a guy who failed a $300 mil contract.

Thats an option too...i imagine the tag will be a huge chunk of change though $$$

John Elway was able to beat good teams right away and took the Broncos to a Super Bowl in his 4th season.

Was not the only one, Brady did it, Marino went to SB on rookie deal, Russ, Mahomes, and so on. Allen was close, played in a championship game, that would be good enough for me, Id offer him a 4 year extension to try to do it again. but with Tua, I'm not biting.

That's how it goes. You draft a good QB from college, and you give him his window. That window is opening up in 2025.

So this year he's gotten Miami to the Playoff + maybe more, next year he does the same you have to reward him.

I completely disagree. He has not come up big in one single important game. The only game we have been competitve in against the Bills lately was the playoff game Skylar Thompson started last January. Tua is pretty good when he is not being pressured and can stay in the pocket. Against more physical teams like the Eagles, Chiefs and Bills....? Not so much.
Last year against Buffalo (x2) and Baltimore he was 66 of 98 (67%) for 889 yards (9.0 ypp) with 9 TDs and 2 INTs.

You clearly don't realize how good Tua is.

Will a better QB prospect come out of the draft in the next 2 years? Maybe.

Will the Miami Dolphins find a better QB in the draft in the next 2 years? Not a f***ing chance.

Can he perform without Hill and Waddle? Whom account for almost 3k of his yards?
Without Hill and Waddle, his receivers are worse than Kansas City's and he doesn't have Travis Kelce. No quarterback would succeed starting Cedric Wilson, Berrios, and Smythe.
