Tua Tagovailoa has given Dolphins answers they needed and earned new contract

I would love to see how long GM's would keep their job if they shed their QB's every 4-5 years because they didn't make the SB on their rookie deal. That's a lot of damn good QB's on the open market due to a GM's lofty, arguably unrealistic goals.
The best post in this thread is "If I was the GM I never would have re-signed Dan Marino"

Right! I would venture to guess that GM would have been fired on the spot. Arguably the best QB in the game at the time, setting records, and "hey, our defenses have sucked and you haven't been able to elevate us over that, so we're gonna dump you and hope to find somebody better than you at a cheaper price". It's a pretty sound approach when it's put like that isn't it? 😂. QB's like that grow on trees.

multiple chances though....
but the minimum you're probably talking about is 3 years before you'd consider drafting another. you'll draft one high in the draft and then give him a few years to develop. but if he doesn't, then you just wasted a few years. that's the gamble you take though. the upside of Tua is that despite his flaws, he's a proven commodity.

Can he perform without Hill and Waddle? Whom account for almost 3k of his yards?

How much can he do by himself?

Interesting situation because at this point in his career, as much as I like him, if he cripples the cap and we can't make moves to keep our players to be able to stay in contention...well...
Doesn`t matter who the receiver is , Tua can hit them . Receivers not named Hill and Waddle have to make the catch and or get open .

I agree!

However non-stone handed, speedy guys aren't exactly taking league minimum contracts nowadays.

Grier needs to be fair by all means...but don't go Dodgers 😂 ( of whom I'm a fan of btw, boy we got Ohtani and Yamamoto for ginormous contracts lol christ man like a billion dollars on 2 guys 😂)

AAV will mean very little. It's the guarantees in terms of total guaranteed and how they are structured.

Philly got out of the Wentz deal early without much dead, relative to when they traded him, due to how it was structured.

Not saying Tua is like Wentz, but hopefully Tua isn't like Dak or Watson in how the guarantees are spelled out and details like term and franchise tag options
That's how I'm doing it. He can get the big 5/250 sure, but he damn well isn't getting the guarantees the big boys get yet. He passed my get through the season this year and did so phenomenally. I'm not moving the goalposts like I read countless others doing. Pay the man.

No.

You see, the standard was simply making the SB.

It's a very specific standard.

But then it doesn't matter anymore and the standard becomes BS when he makes an exception for Allen who's come close enough

In other words, the SB standard is a bogus standard.

It's just another absurd goal post moving standard.

But, when you consider guys like Kaepernick and Newton would have gotten extensions from him, but not Tua. Kinda tells you all you need to know about the standard.

If Miami makes it to the SB, does anyone really believe Largo will be the first poster calling for Tua to be extended?
I think it`s more likely we never hear from that troll again

And how did that work out?

I hate this endless shitting on Tannehill. In his first 4 years, dude passed for over 15,000 yards, 87 TDs and 54 INTs mostly with Joe Philbin as his head coach. That is fifth ALL TIME in passing yards in first 4 seasons.

Get the **** out of here that he didn't earn his second contract ungrateful Dolphins fans.

Tua can’t move, he has the worst arm in the league, is really not that accurate when push comes to shove and when you pressure him he folds like a lawn chair.

People want to pay $50m a year for that? Basically a midget, un-athletic version of Ryan Tannehill? Really?

Brady and Manning crumpled to the ground like baby goats whenever someone grabbed them. That's how they mostly avoided major injuries over long careers.

Ungrateful…please tell me you are joking?!?

He actually can move when it's not the entire DL coming straight at him at the snap. And you've lost your mind saying he's not that accurate.
But again, this misinformation is coming from another hater from the start. Next....
