Tua Tagovailoa is getting zero respect and that’s wrong

You got to root for the kid. He has handled himself great, seems to be working his butt off. Does a great job with the media. Does not seem to be a diva like so many of these qbs. He seems to be a guy that will take all of the negatives and use them as motivation to make himself better. I can not wait to see him with some weapons and a full off season under his belt

Tua had a way better than average rookie season all things considered. the guy was heading into the last game with a 10/2 TD/INT ratio and a winning record. I think the Buf game left a bad taste but the whole team got crushed and the offense was playing with practice squad material at the skill positions.

Im not trying to tell anyone Tua proved anything this year, but I sure as hell dont remember a rookie QB getting crushed by the media like this after that type of rookie season with that type of supporting cast.
Figures you would say that. Not factoring in the fact he couldn't move the ball. Got benched twice for it. If he had as good a year as you say he did, everyone would recognize that. But go ahead and pull out some stat about his performance on the type of field they played on, the wind factor, the cloud factor, the passes he completed wearing nikes instead of reebok, and his release speed being .05 seconds so receivers didn't have enough time to catch his passes

Tua will be fine and it's not like any QB in the Nation could have beat Buffalo with that roster he took the field with.
Use #3 pick and get the weapons needed for Tua ... why trade down when you need that pick more than anyone. Miami has the most brittle wr roster in the league headed up by Parker

I honestly don't understand the hate, disrespect and doubt that Tua has on him from the media, fans of other teams and Dolphins fans too.

For years all anyone ever said was how great of a quarterback prospect he was, how he was destined to be the #1 overall pick, how he would for sure be a star and that he was worth "tanking" for. While the Dolphins won't ever say they tanked 2019, and Flores and the team certainly played to win every game, the front office did strip the team enough that I am sure they thought they would be in contention for the top pick and Tua. After Miami won some games everyone was saying how the Dolphins blew their shot at Tua because now he would likely be going to the Bengals. Then Tua got seriously injured and the injury concerns started to grow, understandably, but that was the main reason he fell from being the consensus #1 overall pick right into the Dolphins lap at #5.

It seemed like if Tua could fully recover from the hip injury that people still believed everything that was said prior. He seems to be well on his way to a full recovery and the fact that he was healthy enough to play this last season and at a winning level was very impressive. He also spent all of last offseason rehabbing, not really training his body. This offseason he is back to being able to train and we are already starting to see some of the physical pay off in those photos he posted.

Everyone always seemed to say he had the "It" factor, now that he is with the Dolphins, people are coming out of the woodwork to say he doesn't, with some media people like that Chris Simms or Mike Lombardi saying he never had elite skills and will now be a NFL bust. Colin Cowherd, who changes his mind hourly on everything in the NFL, now claims that Tua does nothing special and doesn't see greatness.

Most people seem to think Tua was awful in 2020. Yet he was 6-3 as a starter, had 11 passing touchdowns and only 5 interceptions, plus another 3 rushing touchdowns in just 9 games. Tua also controlled that game against the Cardinals in a shootout and he was probably the main reason they won that contest. I could understand doubt if he threw more interceptions than touchdowns and looked really bad, but he didn't. His stats were better than Hurts, not all that much different than Burrow and obviously Herbert put up much better stats than anyone (granted his year was all about the stats, just wasn't able to win many games). His rookie year was also better than Josh Allen's rookie year and the media now loves him, but they also gave him three seasons. They only give Tua 9 games.

I actually saw a Twitter poll asking people to rank the top 4 quarterbacks of Burrow, Tua, Herbert and Hurts of what they think their success will be in 2021 and there was a lot of combinations between the top 3 rankings, but ever single one had Tua at #4. Seriously?

I just don't understand how a lot of people thought he was the absolute greatest up until the Dolphins drafted him. Now he is awful and apparently was never good to begin with. I really don't understand the hate.
Such a long post man. The reason a lot of us fans are upset is because most of everyone like you say told us how once in a lifetime talent this kid was. How he's the most ready nfl qb. How he will be the best of the best. But he wasn't. Then all the Tua fanboys started coming up with every excuse in the book for him. Meanwhile those same people talk about how garbage Fitz is and was but he comes out with the same team, players, situations and moves the ball with ease.

I cant speak for anyone else but I want him to be what they said he was, but I dont believe ish until I see it. Otherwise what's the point. I did see some good things from him that I liked but for the most part he hasn't proved ish... hopefully next year is a different story.

So basically, you're mad because your expectations were 100% based on what other people told you and now you feel betrayed? Get the **** out of here with that non-sense!

You werent even here when the Fins drafted Tua, or were you?

Your first mistake was buying into the hype. Common sense, and historical perspective, says the odds of any QB becoming elite are pretty low.

You aren't wrong, but that isn't TT's fault, so what's the point in trashing him?

Many here will tell you, I preferred a more "prototypical" QB, but what purpose does the "I told you so" attitude serve? What's done is done.

I don't see anything wrong with being critical when warranted, but one extreme is just as bad as the other.

The good news is that he isn't mistake prone, and seems to be the type to work his tail off to be the best he can be.

You can go back through my post history or even my tweets, I never preached that Tua was a once in a lifetime and was never a "Tua fanboy". I really did like Tua coming out of college, the injury stuff always did concern me. I am happy we drafted him though and i do think the skill is there for him to be a top 10 QB in the league.

I just find it curious how the narrative of him being the greatest changed to some now saying he is is worst. Is it because he is a big name player who was popular so people are naturally harsher? Is it because he is a Dolphin? Because for a rookie quarterback, he played pretty well.

It’s called Jealousy and some people are hedging Tua hits a wall in year 2

They are also hoping the Dolphins are stripped of their draft picks so that we fall behind lol

Yes he did just as well as Joe Burrows

I really hope so. It's hard to remember a guy coming in with so much expectation. To have sold the most shirts in the league after Mahomes and Brady is remarkable. I just hope he can shut out the noise.

Performing gets you respect.

Chris Simms gets no respect from anyone because he's a spoiled arrogant failure of a football player who still hasn't learned how to play well with others.

I remember how defensive he got when Kurt Warner disagreed with his QB rankings in 2019. He's a mental child, nothing more.

but the haters will continue to hate anyway.
Yes they will - but this Simms cartoon character takes the case rating Stidham ahead of Tua showed a bias

Again people who said that Tua was most NFL ready are choosing to forget the injury that changed the playing field - taking Tua was the long play not the short play

I am very confident SImms will eat crow
