Tua's 12.2 average yards per completion is pretty good.

I don't think people in here need stats to be thrown around lol. We all do want our team to win regardless who plays quarterback. We had a win against a team with a winning record so that is a start. Then again, so did the Jaguars lol.
Sorry , have to disagree with this i am sure there`s some in here who want the team to succeed when Brissetts in and fail miserably when Tua is so they can go on and on about us needing another QB .

Considering wilsons deep pass was about 10 yards down the field… and accounted for about 64 of his yards… i wouldnt be celebrating this the way you are.

The dime he threw to waddle was good….

Other than that i would be humble and not brag like he was throwing 50 yard bombs…
It was actually 20 yards from the line of scrimmage and a perfect throw under huge pressure. Tua immediately got clobbered after the throw. I don't see why people want to minimize what was a very good game under horrible circumstances for multiple reasons.

For the year, Tua is getting 10.8 yards per completion. Over 170 throws, it's enough of a sample size to at least start to see his leveling out range. Median value in the league is 11.0, so it's basically league average.

One thing that is interesting: last year we had forty 20+ yard pass plays and four 40+ yard pass plays. This year, we are on pace (16 game pace so we can compare apples to apples) for fifty 20+ yard pass plays and six 40+ yard pass plays.

Tua has 16 twenty+ yard completions this year on 170 throws (Brissett has just 15 on 225).

Last season: Tua had 15 twenty+ yard completions on 290 throws and Fitzgerald had 24 on 267 throws.

So if 20+ yards are considering 'big' plays:

Tua was getting 'big' plays once out of 19.3 throws last year; this year he is getting one every 10.6 throws.

Minimize? Im calling out the OP for trying to push a narrative based on this misleading stat. Any other questions?

Well lets start by not overstating this YPA thing like tua was slinging it down field. You wanna say he had a good game cool.. dont try and dispel the observations of tua having a weak arm by claiming the high YPA were gained by throwing “DEEP”.

Celebrate all you want but dont throw out these false narratives like he proved he has a strong arm. Its weird.
Now who's "slinging it"? - LOL

I never said that. Whats funny is you deciding to jump in a conversation that wasnt directed to you.

But since you want to….

YAC/YPA has zero to do with arm strength if the pass plays are all short plays that break open. The OP stated this observation of high YPA like it clears tua from being “weak armed”. Anything else you want to comment on?
My "corrections" are always free, you are welcome - LOL

And that changes what exactly? That tua has a rocket arm?

Im js, dont throw comments like this as it clears tua from being weak armed.

Again this wasnt direct towards you. People love to compare when it’s convenient.
Blessed be those that run around in circles, for they shall be known as "Wheels" - LOL

Is it just me or did it look like Tua had to put every single once of oompf in that throw to waddle. And it was only 35 yards. I dunno, maybe it was just me
I saw that too.

I felt his throws were "a little flaky" but improved somewhat as the game progressed. I feel it was his sore hand that made his throwing appear to be more labored.
