This thread is so frustrating to read. As if Grier has a magic button he can press to get a deal done. What if Tua's agent has always pushed for $60m?
A lot of you guys act like Tua is sat there ready to sign and Grier is the only blocker. In reality it's more likely to be the other way around. You're acting like it's a fact that they previously were asking for less than Lawrence's $55m. You do not know that.
Grier's interests are keeping as much cap as possible in order to invest more in the roster holistically going forward. Tua and his agent's interests are their own pockets and nothing else. Yet Grier is the bad guy here?
It's too easy to hate on Grier because he's in a tie and not out there throwing the ball. In reality he's the one with you team's interests in his heart and head, not Tua.
He's earned his money, he'll get it. Let's hope it works out well for the Dolphins and it's not the last time we're talking about Tua negotiating a top $ contract with Miami in his career.
