Grier dropped the ball here. I don't care, it's not my money but someone with Tua's personality seems like he would have signed months and months ago, just ridiculous

Not the $ amount I’m concerned about it’s the guaranteed. He was always going to get around the 55 number, perfectly okay with that and also realize that many times that number is just imaginary. Prior to this signing you had a solid gap between 160 million and 190 million with some of those players better and some about the same or worse. I figured Tua would fit in between there for guaranteed however with a much inferior Tlaw getting 200 million that may skew things towards that number.

Here's the thing most people are failing to see: If the plan is to franchise Tua next season, the cost for applying the tag is now over $50 million. If the plan is to let him walk, it has to be done immediately following the season because Tua can refuse to sign the tag until Summer and that money can't be used to grab other players. It'll throw our entire offseason off-kilter.
And if Tua's value to another team is less than $50+ million, his value to Miami is more because they constructed the roster around him. We're all entitled to our opinions, but this is going to need to be resolved soon or we're looking at a helluva reset next year.
