And you feel Tua has that? Surprised me how one poster here even emphasized Tua's intelligence as a strength of his.
quick processing is mental, vision, accuracy. There are things not related to being a big qb, with a rocket arm that can make a qb very good. That's the point, and why its about performance and what the qb has done. You normally want the qb to do more and have wins. There are good gambles from what has been shown to what could come based on talent. But there are qbs who have been very good who weren;t super talented and a ton very talented who never became more than what was thought

What if he did? It's not like the dude signing the checks has been a father figure to him...
It damages our ability to field a quality roster top to bottom, that's why...

They get it wrong and the franchise and this regime is ****ed, that's why...

I’m very pro Tua, but if his camp is pushing for top end of the market money (53+ million annually), Grier will not be going for it at all. Tua’s AAV needs to start with a 4.

I understand but realistically what can they do? The market is crazy for these QBs.

This team has no other answer at QB. They have to win realistically in the next 2-3 years max.

This is also the best setup for TUA. So he and his group has to consider that.

It doesn’t help that Lawrence got what he got.

At worst, Tua is as good as he is…

Iirc, Tua had way better stats.

So $55M-$60M is the number.

Lol people continue to fall for the aav trick.

Literally means nothing and a lot of contracts are fluff.

Tyreeks hill “30 aav a year” was all fluff with last year being 58 with almost no guarantee left that he’ll never see. In reality it it was a 4 year deal at 21.5 aav for those 4 years.

Same with this Tlaw contract. Ends up being 27.5 a year since year 4 and 5th year are not up yet. Jags will average 27.5 for the next 5 years for tlaw. The last two years are not guaranteed and very likely he’s given either a new contract or cut by then.

Stop falling for the bs and actually look into the contract…. It’s getting annoying

because that would be selfish and stupid imo if the goal is to win

Lawrence has won a playoff game already. End of comparison and end of conversation

John Wolford also has won a playoff game. Once I figured out who the hell he was, I'm wondering why we don't track him down and sign him at team friendly 50m/yr?!?

Ah, nevermind, Bucs already saw his greatness and resigned him after cutting him from the practice squad...I always put my foot in it!

Yep. another brutal injury sustained from this poor interior line will cause the lightbulb to go off and recognize they need to protect the investment of QB. It will be too little too late. And for those that say his quick release helps, it does but not sustainable against quality teams and away from Hard Rock as has been shown over the last two years. Sure up the GD line Grier. That being said, I love what they are doing on D but the interior needs help, pronto
If you think that the O line hasn't been addressed over the past 6-10 years, then you are a johnny come lately fan.

Not every draft pick or FA pick up works out. They have tried, and its getting better.

Do some research.

Right. I agree. It should be. But if Im Grier, I honestly dont think I'd do it. Its a major commitment that will either make or break the franchise for the forseeable future. Do you gamble on Tua and hope and pray you roll a 7? I think the odds are just as good that you get snake eyes.
So would you prefer that Miami let him walk next year, then draft a qb somewhere in the mid 20's first round? Then start again with a rookie, a rookie that isnt considered a top 2 qb in the draft class? A rookie that may be only average, and with all that talent Miami has on offense is now wasted and frustrated?

Pay him. He certainly deserves it IMO.

Here's another one: wifey competition. Clearly, Trevor wins this one.

Woof.

Only down 10-3. *puts goalie back in*

Grow up. Implying someones missus is a dog is pathetic, childish.

If he performs and finally wins some big games / gets them to a conf championship you can always franchise tag him for another few years No need to make a long term committment if you dont want to...Why box the franchise in at this point.
