That's not what I said at all.

I don't think it's that "black or white". There's a risk factor either way.
I certainly realize there are risk factors and I’m aware you know this too. I just don’t think they will be able to draft or sign a QB that is close to Tua in ability and if they decide to let him walk in free agency, I can very easily see the Dolphins reverting to what they were before Tua became their QB.

I really have no interest in seeing them going back to being a mediocre team Yet I feel like the anti-Tua crowd would be happy with mediocrity again if that means Tua is no longer the Dolphins QB.

I don't know what they think really.
There’s nothing wrong with that sentiment. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to think that if the Dolphins were willing to listen to and believe what McDaniel had to say about Tua when they signed him, that they would be doing the same now, even if it means his opinion has changed. Maybe Mike is screaming at them, “what the hell is wrong with you guys? Give Tua what he wants”. Or maybe he is telling them, “I can do better with someone else”. Or maybe the organization doesn’t care what their coach thinks, it is the Dolphins, after all.

What trepidations would McDaniel have to being tied to Tua for 5 more years?
How the hell would I (or you for that matter) know?

What I said was nobody knows.

If you are you asking what are the possibilities, the board is full of differing opinions. Take your pick.

Oh for crying out loud Mach.

The OP of this exchange mentioned it. Of course spitballing.

Do you have an opinion on this discussion? What trepidations would he have?

All three are entirely within the realm of possibility.

I don't think that is what most of the so called "anti-Tua" crowd think at all. I don't think ppl, as a rule, "dislike" Tua, though there are a few that didn't like the pick and irrationally hold it against him in a personal level. What's to dislike about Tua as a person?

They just don't believe he is a "carry the team when the chips are down with a bad hand" guy. Not saying I agree or disagree, just that equating not believing in, and "hating" Tua are two different things and is a distinction you (and others) routinely dismiss, by lumping everyone together like that.

Frankly, a lot of the division here arises from posters having that attitude that refuses to acknowledge others may have valid opinions, and if their opinion is different then they are just hating aholes.

Nothing to do with Tua specifically, but your position reflects fear of not finding a good QB because of our track record over the last two decades. To that I would say when have we really tried?

RT is the only rd1 QB, aside from Tua, we have drafted. That's a pretty small sample size if you are applying statistical theory as a predictor.
