Tua's Next. Be prepared.

The line is drawn. If you think you have a young qb that is capable of winning big games for you than you need to pay him the going rate. On the other hand if you don't think Tua is that qb than you not only don't pay him the going rate, you need to start looking to move on and find your guy. Why would you pay him $45 million per year if you thought he was a below average starting level AFC qb.

For the record I would have paid him weeks ago.

So everyone wants to pay Tua 50M with stupid guarantees for often injured QB who isn't top tier? Here is the list of the viable QB's in the AFC. Not in any particular order.

In this list I count 5-6 QB's in the AFC alone that I would rather have than Tua. Tell me would any of you really fear Tua if he were on the opposing team?

Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes

Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen

Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow

Houston Texans
C.J. Stroud

Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert

Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence

Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa

Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson

New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers

Burrow is an often injured QB

On your list, there are 3 - maybe 4 only that I would consider over Tua. KC/Bills/Ravens have possibly the three of the better Qbs in the league. Burrow, Herbert, Lawrence, I do not rate better that Tua, Rodgers is yet to do a damn think in the AFC and Stroud may well be, but not yet. However, we have Tua, not the others

To be fair, Lawrence has all the tools to be great.
So Lawrence got paid because he has these magical tools to be great yet hasn't shown it.

Tua's shown what he can do by leading the league in many categories but doesn't deserve to be paid?

So has Trevor Lawrence handicapped his team with his contract like many say Tua will do to us?

This thread is so frustrating to read. As if Grier has a magic button he can press to get a deal done. What if Tua's agent has always pushed for $60m?

A lot of you guys act like Tua is sat there ready to sign and Grier is the only blocker. In reality it's more likely to be the other way around. You're acting like it's a fact that they previously were asking for less than Lawrence's $55m. You do not know that.

Grier's interests are keeping as much cap as possible in order to invest more in the roster holistically going forward. Tua and his agent's interests are their own pockets and nothing else. Yet Grier is the bad guy here?

It's too easy to hate on Grier because he's in a tie and not out there throwing the ball. In reality he's the one with you team's interests in his heart and head, not Tua.

He's earned his money, he'll get it. Let's hope it works out well for the Dolphins and it's not the last time we're talking about Tua negotiating a top $ contract with Miami in his career.

Lawrence has won a playoff game already. End of comparison and end of conversation

So QBs get paid big contracts if they win one playoff game?

Tua's outplayed Lawrence by a huge margin.

Tua's played in one playoff with half the team on IR.

The QB market is ridiculous. Where does it stop. The Fins are in a no win situation. Damned if you do, damned if you dont. At this point they should just let him play out the season. Franchise tag him next year while moving up and drafting a young QB to eventually take over. That would give them the next 2 years to try and win with Tua without mortgaging the future.

Tag next year is $42 million. You okay with that?

What young QB do you want to draft?

Yeah and it's super easy to just nonchalantly move up and take your QB of the future. It hasn't been a problem at all for Miami for a couple of decades.

Plus - Losing the draft picks it would cost to get that QB would mean less players on their rookie contracts on the roster over that two year period. They would have to be replaced on the 53 with either cheap (bad) players or with expensive free agents, thus still mortgaging your future, just on different players.

Tua’s contract will be at least $55 mil per year. $200 mil guaranteed. That’s the number I sense Tua and his agent are pushing for.

The market being what it is and Tua being who he is, as compared to the others who recently signed, would be the argument from Tua’s agent.

Griers argument.

See Chris “I can’t call NFl Plays” Simms argument, where he lists Tua at number 18 QB, heading into the 2024 season.

The Grier argument is a cut and paste argument from Chris Simms argument.

Just get it done and let’s cheer for the 🐬. Let’s effing go Grier! Get this shet done!
At this point the clock is ticking on Jordan Love resetting this whole conversation again.
