Anyone not named Tua?

I want specifics. You can’t get rid of someone without a replacement. So go ahead and name someone better that is available.

So, bottom line is you don't think Tua is a franchise QB, and do not want to pay him as such.

Fair enough.

I have a follow up question, as I often see others of the same opinion.

If that's what you truly believe, and that's fine, I understand the position, but then why would you want to give him a contract at all?

I would just prefer to let Tua ride out this option year and see how i feel about him after another season. I'm too uncertain of his mental game to give him the keys to the franchise, aka signing him long-term deal with a massive contract. I would have preferred the timeline of trading him this off-season while his value was the highest and then signing a solid vet like Kirk Cousins as a stopgap until a rookie develops. I was hopeful that pairing him with McD and the talent on O could have maximized his game, never before seen. After all we wouldn't want to waste this talent with a Mike White running the offense.

... I had the same idea with Baker Mayfield last off-season but again that wasn't realistic.

Welp so these timelines aren't realistic now so I'm speaking on what we feel will more than likely manifest, and that's Tua getting this extension. So no,I wouldn't want to give him a contract just yet but here we are...

Now let me ask you... do you trust Tua's mentalism enough to offer him this massive contract? Forget the injury concern, as that's well known and valid. Can you trust him against elite defenses?

At Alabama, everybody ate with Tua at QB.

Same with Miami.

Not sure if this is true. Ask Waddle. He played with Tua at Alabama and now at Miami.

Tua at QB allows everyone to eat.

Jalen Hurts. Not so much.

The others, not so much.
The problem with this sentiment is that when they asked all of the Bama receivers who their favourite QB was (waddle was included in the group) They all picked Mac Jones over Tua.

Not trying to be a dick, just pointing out that everyone eats at Bama regardless of QB. Tua was not their favourite.

Not gonna lie, I had to look up mentalism...Screenshot_20240617-134613-404.png

Show. Don’t tell. Provide the proof to back up your statement. Links to videos or statements to back up your puffery. 🤭

I’m going to take a wild guess and say you don’t have the evidence to back up your tomfoolery statement above. 👆

I see some people writing posts like:

"Who would we replace Tua with?"

That does not really matter per se.

If you believe(And there is plenty of reason to believe) that Tua is not going to take us to the Superbowl, then a rebuild is inevitable.

For those that are paying attention to the long game; We just drafted 2 really good wideouts and a shifty back that has as much talent as Achane

I bring this up because Mostert and Hill are on the wrong side of 30. Hill is not under contract beyond 2025

We have the players on the roster to replace Mostert and Hill with currently.

Now I think we can all agree that they are making a run up Hamburger hill this season. The Dolphins have committed 60 million dollars to their wideouts this season. We just brought in a play making tight end. We just brought in Campbell to lead the defense. (their best move of the whole offseason.)

If the wheels fall off again this year and we do not make it to the superbowl, we can quickly re-tool. Trade Hill, Ramsey, Mostert, Chubb

Maybe someone would give us a first round pick for Tua as well?

With the picks we would get from trading Ramsey, Hill, Mostert, Chubb... There would be plenty of ammunition to trade into a position to draft one of the top 3 quarterbacks in the coming draft. (Georgia's Carson Beck, Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, and Texas' Quinn Ewers.)

Tua has had his chance.

They changed the coach for him
They brought in Mostert and Hill for him(Smith and Beckham also)
They changed the whole offense for him

If Tua does not take us to the promised land this season.... It is valid to ask if he ever will???

If the answer is no, why pay him?

Do the rest of you want to watch us be the Vikings under Kirk Cousins 2.0??? You know some big games in the regular season when it does not matter. Some decent stats, but no superbowls, and no real success in the playoffs.

Cousins had chances surrounded by talent like Theilen, Jefferson, Diggs. (Cook was also there and a world class back.)

Why break the bank for a QB that cannot win it all when surrounded by elite weapons?

I understand that Tua has the reins and they are going to make another run at winning this season. Again I ask all of you here: If not this year, with these weapons, Is Tua even capable of winning?

Let him play out his contract.
If at the end of the season we have yet more disappointments, Say no to the 5 year deal that will cost 55 million per (Likely a little more a year from now.)

It will be time for us to look in another direction at QB

One person player said that and you might want to look up the explanation that player gave for saying that .

Ask and you will receive.

Here is the highlight of the article if you are too lazy to read:

"To add insult to injury for the Tagovailoa truthers, both DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle said they prefer Jones over him. That could just be that Jones is draft-eligible this season and they want to hype up their teammate who hasn't been drafted yet.Mar 5, 2021"

No it was more than one person.

You can try to explain it away if you want; But the top receivers were asked and Tua was not their favourite.

I do not care why they did not pick Tua, and I do not know why they picked someone else.

I was pointing out the error of the logic that everyone ate at Bama with Tua and it was not the case with Hurts or Mac Jones. When the star players were asked who their favourite QB was it was Not Tua. End of story.

It does matter who he is replaced with because probably only 2 QB`s might have a chance playing behind this line once the injuries start happening and they will . Anyone that thinks this o-line is decent needs to realize they looked decent because of TUA and how quick and accurately he`s been getting the ball out . As for Superbowl sure , i would love to get to the Superbowl this year but wtf is it a must that Tua gets to the Superbowl this year is that all of a sudden the new goalpost for Tua ?

Nice try Bud ,here`s the real end to the story though .. It was speculated that this was said to help their then team mate get drafted . When asked ..

Waddle's answer was simple. In fact, some had even correctly speculated in 2021 that this was the case. Waddle said he chose Jones over Tagovailoa because one was already in the league and the other would have benefited from an endorsement from one of the top receivers in the draft class.
