Tua's Next. Be prepared.

My honest take on Tua is that he is a good Qb and has improved. Does he piss me off with his play at times. Of course. I've seen alot of not just bad Qb play over the years but bad team play. I won't speak for others on here but just because I support Tua doesn't mean I don't realize his short comings. I do understand posters who would rather move on . Maybe it works out. Maybe not. The same if Tua signs big contract. None of us really know what will end up being right choice. Just my opinion brothers.
Ahh thanks for sharing brother Brogs! I too genuinely appreciate you sharing your truth as it's valid and appreciated when shared respectfully without the snarkiness. I too believe he's a good qb and he is improving.. I actually have a lot of love for Tua. I feel it, he's genuine and has a good heart. I love this about him most of all. As a qb, I am suspect of this mental game and would prefer to see him play out one more year to get another look of how he handles the latter part of the season before giving him a contract. It's ultimately the safer move for the team imo.

Any way you add it up we got to pay him his stats don't lie even tho he has come up short on the big stage

I agree with you. I'm a Tua supporter but this is a difficult choice. However, letting him play out his last year means you're essentially moving on because after the season he'd become an unrestricted free agent and any team can bid for him. Ideally, Tua plays great, looks good in the playoffs and we sign him to a deal before the conference championship game.

We don't really have that option at the moment

Its hard to fine a good quarterback. The contracts that even average Qbs are pretty substantial. Its a premium position in any sport these days.

I would not reset the market with Tua. Play out his rookie contract and see how he does this year. The Dolphins need to see if Tua can win in December onwards. Also, Tua needs to prove he can play through more than one year without significant time out. There are too many question marks with Tua right now to offer such a massive payday.

If Tua has a poor 2024 season, I'd trade or let him go and trade Tyreek Hill. Look for another answer at QB. No need to destroy our franchise for 5-6 years on a QB has accomplished nothing.
Let other teams destroy themselves like Jax. My dad used to say; "If your friend jumps off a cliff are you going to too?". In others words, dont follow others mistakes. I think Grier is smart enough not to destroy our future or he wouldve caved already.
Im obviously not the only with serious doubts about Tua or he wouldve been paid already.

Right now, the Dolphins have a solid very youthful core of players. Our future is bright regardless.
Excellent commentary!

Fair enough.

If I'm Tua and I dont have a contract before the season starts, Im signing with the highest bidder in the offseason.

Kid owes this franchise nothing.

Wild how a banned member can just start a new account and get right back to work with the same garbage. This place is falling apart.

I support Tua...

I want him to be the best ever... Better than Marino.

But when discussions about new contracts come up and Tua is still under contract... Of course I will talk about how we do NOT have to pay him 55 million when he is under contract next year for 23. People asked and I stated I feel that in year 5 we might have seen him about as good as he will ever be. So we should NOT pay him 55 million hoping he will continue to grow into a much better QB... We should pay him based on the QB he is now.

I am a fan... I want him to prove me wrong. I want them to let him play out this year for 23 million.... I want Tua to shine... 5000 yards 50 touchdowns and a QB rating of 120!!!! A season where we win multiple playoff games... have homefield and get to the superbowl. That is what I want... I do not think it is what we will get though. If he has kind of amazing and record breaking season I am okay paying him 60 million this time next year.... Then I can say he has proven himself and earned it.

But sure lump me in with these other posters... Say we are the same person... Troll my posts.

I get it... It is the offseason... Boredom and anger have built here. I did not expect this kind of response.

I think people forget that criticism does not mean what they think it means... Classicly in Literature or in essays criticism merely means a deep analysis. to honestly look at Tua and a new contract we have to examine both sides of the argument.

Too late.

Your position is clear.
