Any way you add it up we got to pay him his stats don't lie even tho he has come up short on the big stage
Technically he's already signed the option deal for 23 m this season? I mean surely it would be sweet to maintain his high spirits and guarantee a full contribution for the Tc. Although that would that be absolute necessary since he's already under contract? We'll see if Grier values this human component enough to sign him before the season begins. Financially it would be wise to keep him under the option and then pay him afterwards.

So what is ultimately the greater risk? Not signing Tua at this time and potentially causing contention/ holding ... next possibly balling out and his asking price increases next off-season...

Or sign him to a massive contract and the injury history sadly resurfaces. Also potentially witnessing that he can't take the next step processing defenses beyond the first read, playing small and shrinking in big moments. Yikes... and then he would be consuming what, 20% of the entire cap with these limitations?

It really comes down to personal opinion if you think he is the one or not. Its cool if you don't think he is. If Tua and his agent are asking for more then front office believe he worth then it might just play out as you said. I have my doubts.

If you actually believe that "he can't take the next step processing defenses beyond the first read, playing small and shrinking in big moments." Then you should have drafted his replacement.

You dont sign him at all.

That isnt the case though.

Or yikes we have more years of horrible Qb which we all know where that gets you. Its always gamble with injuries.

I understand. If Tua balls then whats the difference if we pay him 55 avg now or 60 plus next. Its interesting take. If he balls out though we won't be the only suiter I would think.
Brogs... Tua is not going to be a unresricted free agent next offseason... We can tag him or sign him to a new deal... The Dolphins still have options. When a player is only a restricted free agent their team gets a chance to match any incoming offer. So if Tua balls out all season and we get to the superbowl we can still sign him or match any offer for him.

Fair enough. But if he continues to improve and has great season . He just might move on from us. And tagging him will be worse then signing him now.
I really doubt he would leave a team/offence this stacked and a system built for him “AND” a coach that resurrected his career.

Technically Tua cannot leave until our options on him expire. We control his rights for 2 more years after this season.

I do understand that part for sure. I just don't see it playing out that way .

Guys, I don’t like asparagus.

I mean, I support it as a vegetable, but I just don’t think you can do all that much with it.

It’s not like it’s the central part of a dish. If we’re being honest with ourselves, asparagus needs a dish more than a dish needs asparagus.

I will now go on to repeat that I am not in favor of asparagus in several dozen different ways, and accuse ANYONE who disagrees with me of being unrealistic asparagus lovers who unzip in the frozen foods section.

Is that about what our friend here is doing?

Asparagus is the GOAT of all vegetables. This and Tua are the two hills I would die on, but neither would get me to protest the opposing side on a hot day.

It makes your pee smell different for 28 hours. And while Tua cant do that, he’s a pretty good Qb.
