If the system was built for Tua they would have fixed the offensive line.

The system was built by McDaniel and Grier, Tua just happens to make it work.

What? Tua’s most elite trait is his quick release, timing and anticipation which makes oline less important. It was built for Tua…

If we pay everything we have to towards weapons and O-line and then pay our QB "market value" we'll have about $20 left for the D.

What is your plan if you get your wish and Tua somehow gets out of Miami?

I'm curious if there is a plan or if you just want the world to burn.
Find a stop gap veteran that's undervalued, which McD sees the potential to work with until they draft their guy. There will be options available... may not be as successful as Tua initially but I'm trusting the timeline will unfold for the team's highest. No fear of the unknown without Tua... fans may be pleasantly surprised with how this unfolds

Teddy retired.

TUA played every game in 2023. He amassed an NFL-leading 4,624 passing yards with a career-high 29 touchdowns and a 101.1 quarterback rating. What is the issue?

Where have you been since Marino retired? You make it sound so easy to find an NFL QB.

Well I am because he has yet to materialize the next unreasonably high "market value" contract for Tua. This would just cripple the team later down the road and intuitively I feel in a couple years many fans could be calling for Grier's head if Tua fails. It's Grier's job to have the foresight to see beyond this coming up season and the next.. having the teams best interest at heart and paying Tua market value does not appear to be wise.

Ahh just blessed to see he hadn't pressured in just yet. We'll see but for now I'm impressed.

I do like Tua on his rookie contract and this option year... just not a fan of paying him "market value" yet. Another year is needed after the uncertainties that surfaced towards the end of last season. He's also coming in much lighter physically and would need to see how this new weight works for him.
It's not your money, why do you care what he pays?

You'd rather see Tua sit and the Fins tank for the next QB?

How is that building it FOR Tua?

He can do it yes, but do you think Tua says "Give me less time to throw the ball" ?

If you have a QB that you are concerned about getting injured, do you spend less money on the oline?

Just because he CAN do something doesnt mean that he should always do it. And it CERTAINLY is not built for his benefit.

IMO, this is about getting the Dolphins to a Super Bowl within the current window. The only way you realistically can do that is by extending Tua.

For all the doubters who say he is a product of the system, that's fine, but if that's the case, why on Earth would the Dolphins let the perfect QB for their current system get away?

Tua within McD's system is a hand-in-glove perfect fit (O.J. reference incoming in 5...4...3...2...)
