Undervalued Players

Accepting it's a highlight reel, this guy looks interesting. Where does he project to drop?
He is projected between 4-6 rds., some where in that range. There is another guy I like alot, Darian Barnes. He is going to be a converted OLB. I think he can start, but if not he could be a valuable back-up. The sweet thing is he may not even be drafted and I think that we could get a steal as an UDFA.

I'm to the point where I'm just praying ... "Please God, let us draft someone useful for this year!"

:bumpus:

107. Rick Henry OG Nebraska 6'3" 305lbs.
Ol5fImIAAAAASUVORK5CYII=
Strengths
Big, strong and exceptionally physical. Brutal mauler as a run blocker; master of the pancake block. Quick off the ball with natural leverage, and has a great hand punch. Can rock DTs off the ball, and fights to finish. Matches up with the biggest & strongest linemen. Can execute short pulls and obliterates LBs/DBs who try to take him on in space. Can anchor versus the most powerful bullrushers in pass protection. Nasty and plays with attitude.
Weaknesses
Raw, stiff and a bit mechanical. Has a hitch in his footwork and is slow to redirect upfield when pulling. Overaggressive and over-commits at times, which leads him to fall off his blocks, and leaves him vulnerable to spin moves. Raw in pass protection and is slow to react to stunts. Not fluid in space and doesn't always engage on the second level. Sometimes gets flagged for being overly physical or playing past the whistle.
Projection
A project who needs major work in pass protection, but the kind of player any offensive line coach would love to work with. Late round pick that someone may take as high as the fourth. Linemen this tough and nasty ultimately end up as starters down the road.

Big motor on him, that's for sure.

108. Anthony Sherman FB Connecticut 5'11" 241lbs.
A high motor guy that is intensely competitive. Good power and base for the position-very good lead lead blocker. Lunch-pail, strap 'em up and go to work type of player. Comes to play every down. Possess excellent hands in the passing game. He is a video from Universal Draft, thanks CK:

109. Trevor Vittatoe QB Texas El-Paso 6'2" 218lbs.
Vittatoe was having a season that mirrored the top QB prospects in the nation until game 6 when he hurt is ankle. He is a gutsy kid and played through the pain, but was clearly not the same in the 2nd half of the season. He can make all the throws. Does a good job of anticipating the route and throwing the ball on time. The football comes out of his hand naturally, he puts a nice spin on the ball. He has above average arm strength and a quick release. When healthy, he has athleticism to rival anyone in the draft. He needs to learn to not stare down his primary target. Vittatoe does his best work out of the shotgun and will have to learn how to take the ball from under OC. Needs to learn to go through his progressions. Vittatoe could turn into something in the NFL with the right coaching.

110. Brett Brackett TE Penn State 6'6" 246lbs.
Strengths
Big bodied WR who might work well as a TE in the NFL. Has the frame to add bulk and is already an accomplished blocker as a WR. Shows excellent effort blocking in space, on run and pass plays. Has a bit of a nasty streak as a blocker. Has tremendous hands and long arms to pluck the ball away from his body. Uses his body well to shield defenders from the pass. Not afraid to go across the middle or do the dirty work. Outstanding person and student off the field.
Weaknesses
Too limited athletically to play WR in the NFL (i.e., he's pretty slow). He doesn't have much burst out of his stance and lumbers a bit as a route-runner. Will need to move to TE and add another 15-25 pounds of functional bulk.
Projection
Brackett was never used much in the receiving game at PSU, but he's an interesting project worth a late selection in the 2011 NFL Draft. He's got the size, length, and demeanor to be an effective receiving TE in the short term, and a nasty blocking TE in the future.

100. Eugene Clifford S Tennessee State 6'2" 205lbs.

111. Dozie Amajoyi ILB California-Davis 5'11" 244lbs.
Strengths
Very instinctive player who makes correct reads quickly. Is always around the ball because of his instincts. Has a good, solid frame for an ILB at the pro level. Good strength at the POA to attack blocks and possesses the hand strength to shed blocks consistently. Plays off cut blocks well. Takes good angles in pursuit. Delivers a blow as a tackler. Displays awareness in coverage of receivers crossing and their route running.
Weaknesses
Amajoyi is an average athlete with average speed and quickness. He has limitations in coverage, especially man coverage because of his lack of athleticism. Doesn't get great depth or width in zone drops. Doesn't possess closing speed to make tackles in space and struggles to stay in balance as a tackler in the open field.
Projection
A sleeper FCS prospect who will probably not be drafted, but Amajoyi should be picked up as a UDFA.

112. Josue Paul WR Central Connecticut 5'11" 223lbs.
I am getting conflicting results from his ProDay, one place says that he runs a 4.43/40 and another says that he runs a 4.51/40. The same goes for his height and weight, 6'0" 190 and 5'11" 223-respectively. It does not really matter because when they talk about the player the comments mirror each other. He is a physical, athletic WR who can get off the jam at the LOS and has the speed to close the gap in off coverage. Paul has great hands, is a willing blocker and does not shy away from going over the middle. Another plus is that he is an exceptional return man. Because he comes from a small school, he may be drafted in the later rds. or be UDFA. But once he finds his way onto a roster, the respective team may find it difficult to get rid of him. By the way, his nickname is "The Beast".:D

113. Ben Lamaak OC Iowa State 6'4" 302lbs.
Lamaak was named to the 2010 All-Big 12 2nd team. He has played all 3 positions on the OL. Powerfully built and strong at the POA, Lamaak is able to get movement in the run game and anchor in pass protection. He has power in his upper body to move and control his man at the LOS. While he took over for Brayden Burris at LT when he went down with injury, he is a mauler and probably best suited to playing on the interior.
Lamaak Named to Outland Trophy Watch List

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State offensive lineman Ben Lamaak has been named to the 2010 Outland Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced Monday. The Outland Trophy is awarded to the top offensive or defensive tackle, offensive guard or center each season.
Lamaak is slated as the Cyclones’ starting center following the spring season. The 6-4 senior made every start at right guard last season. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native has started 33 games at Iowa State, moving from tight end to the offensive line in his redshirt freshman season.
“Ben is a great leader for us,” ISU assistant head coach and offensive line coach Bill Bleil said. “He’s been playing here a long time. We are excited to have someone who has leadership skills like Ben has and who has played as well as he’s played since he’s been here. We think he’s a great player and he can get even better. He was one of the significant players for us a year ago and we are excited about what he can do in the future.”
Lamaak is one of 63 players recognized on the watch list and one of 10 from the Big 12 Conference. The FWAA All-America Committee will select three finalists in late November and eventually the overall winner. The 2010 winner will be announced on The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Dec. 9.

114. J.T. Thomas OLB West Virginia 6'1" 241lbs.
In 2010, Thomas had 63tkls., 2.5 sks., 7 TFLs., and 2 fumble recoveries. In his career at WVU, he has 223 tkls., 6 sks., 27 TFLs., and 13 pass break-ups. Thomas contributed to a unit that ranked 2nd in the nation for total defense. He was selected to the 1st team All Big-East. Thomas is blessed with speed and instincts. He is the inspirational leader of the defense.

115. Frank Kearse NT Alabama A&M 6'4" 315lbs.
Kearse is a converted OL. He shed 30lbs in 2009 to increase his productivity on the field. He has the perfect frame for a 3-4 NT and knows how to use his hands to keep defenders from getting into his body. His production at the college level is a bit understated and he does not seem to have a nasty attitude, but the kid has potential. He is a smart player having finished up his degree with a 3.2 GPA. Projects as a UDFA.
Kearse Impresses Scouts at A&M Pro Day

NFLDRAFTSERVICES
NORMAL – Not since 2007 has twelve NFL team scouts showed up at the Louis Crews Stadium on Monday for Alabama A&M's annual pro day.

Most left impressed with Bulldog defensive tackle Frank Kearse. The 6-4, 315-pound prospect put up impressive numbers in front of representatives from the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Bucs, Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburg Steelers.

Kearse was among five Alabama A&M seniors to display their skills for the NFL on-lookers.

Kearse's stats included a 5.2 40-yard dash, 30-inch vertical, 8-7 broad jump, and 22 225-pound bench press reps. The four-year starter measured in with a 34 ¼ arm length, and an 85 3/8 wingspan.

“Frank has the size and ability to play professional football,” said Mark Gorscak of the Pittsburgh Steelers. “He is explosive and impressive. His game tape and resume has earned him the recognition.”

116. Niles Paul WR Nebraska 6'1" 220lbs.
Strengths
Awesome athlete with great explosion, balance and agility. Tremendous speed and strength. Fearless, no-nonsense returner who finds a lane and hits it with abandon. Goes over the middle as a receiver and will take big hits. Great run-after-catch ability; seems to be in four wheel drive and can take it to the house every time he touches the ball.
Weaknesses
Extremely raw as a receiver and has a great deal to learn about running routes. Inconsistent hands. As a returner, sometimes fields some questionable punts. Careless at times and will put the ball on the ground.
Projection
Very unpolished as a receiver but is such a great athlete and return man that he likely won't be on the board past the fourth round. Every NFL receiver coach would love to have him on the roster as a fifth/six WR and developmental prospect.

117. Cudahy Harmon OG/OT Louisiana Tech 6'6" 335lbs.
Started 8 games in 2010, but missed the last 4 after suffering a season-ending knee injury during the Boise St. game. Despite missing those games, he was still named the Outstanding Offensive Lineman of the Year. Harmon is a huge man with long arms to keep defenders away from the body. He definitely has some mobility and agility problems, so that is why I think he kicks inside at OG to let him use his size to maul people.
