Undervalued Players

57. Mark LeGree FS Appalachain State 6'0" 211lbs.
2010 WALTER CAMP FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SUBDIVISION ALL-AMERICA TEAM: DB Mark LeGree, Appalachian State, Sr., finished his career as the active leader in NCAA Division I with 22 career interceptions, four more than any other FCS or FBS player active in 2010. The 22 interceptions are good for second in Southern Conference history and third in ASU’s all-time annals. Despite opposing offenses steering away from the ball-hawking safety for much of the year, LeGree picked off five passes a senior, good for a tie for 20th nationally. He also broke up eight passes and made 49 tackles in his final collegiate campaign.

Rob Rang rated him as a "Diamond in the Rough"(one of top "small school" prospects). LeGree was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan award, a two-time All-American, and only FCS player on Bronco Nagurski trophy watchlist.

58. Mario Harvey ILB Marshall 6'3" 235lbs.
Mario was a highly productive player at Marshall. In his tenure with the school, he recorded 420tkls. and 36.5TFLs. and nearly 12tkls/gm as a senior-4th in the FBS. His 8.5sks. and 17.5TFL rank him third in C-USA. Marshall clocked him at 4.35/40, but all other reports report him at 4.7/40. In the Texas vs. Nation, he looked comfortable dropping into coverage. He was 1 of the 15 on the list of finalists for the Butkus Award. He is tied for 5th all-time in tkls. for Marshall. Maybe his best traits are his unselfishness and physicality. He may not unseat our starters immediately, but his instincts and temperament bode well for his contribution as a back-up at ILB and on Special teams.

59. Mike Hartline QB Kentucky 6'6" 210lbs.
Hartline is a big, above average arm QB. He plays within himself and will not jeopardize the team with a brash play. He surveys the field and takes what is available. He has good pocket awareness and avoids the sack. He is seen as a late bloomer and still has some upside. That is the good. Now the the not so good. When he is in a game, it seems as though he lacks the confidence to be "the man". While he won't hurt the team, he won't take the team on his shoulders to gut out a victory. At this time seems as though he is of need of development. One pundit has asked the question, "Could he be the next Tom Brady?" He could, but...

60. Tommie Campbell FS California University(PA) 6'2" 205
While he is listed as a 4.45/40 player, he impressed scouts at the Cactus Bowl running a 4.33 and 4.31/40. He is 1 of only 8 D-II players to be invited to the Eastern Energy All-Star Game. Campbell started his collegiate career at the Univ. of Pittsburgh as a LB and S, but transfered to Edinboro for 1yr.(2007) before winding up a CU. Tommie had 29tkls(17solo) for the Vulcans and had two picks in the playoffs against Bloomsburg. While at Pitt, Dumbstadt suspended Campbell for poor classroom habits. When he got to Edinboro, his efforts in the classroom continued and he once again was shown the door. After sitting for 2yrs. and working as a janitor at the airport, he was given another shot. He made the most of his last opportunity and was one of the reasons why the Vulcans had a 10-2 campaign. He finally seemed to get his head straight and did the right things in the classroom also. It shows you what sitting for 2yrs. and having to live with the fact that you blew it will do to a person.
"I'd like to think I'm still athletic enough to play at that level. I'm the same athlete I've always been. But now, I'm much more mature as a person, and I'm going to do everything I can to make it in the NFL."

61. Stephen Skelton TE Fordham 6'5" 250lbs.
Skelton is adept in the passing game. He possess above average straight-line speed. He routinely gets separation from defenders and is able to run away from the underneath coverage. He does not let the ball get into his body, has the hands to pluck the ball out of the air. While he has a tendency to round off routes against LB as he usually relies on his superior athleticism, when facing the secondary he seems to focus and runs much crisper routes. He is a little thin in his lower body and does not have the base for blocking. Will need to be coached on leverage in blocking game. At this point is more of a athletic/seal blocker rather than a good off the line drive blocker. Coaches will have to take the time to develop as a blocker. Nice pass catching prospect that can be picked in the later rds.

62. Iraham "Hero" Abdulai DT Arkansas-Pine Bluff 6'3" 311lbs.
The thing that got my attention and it probably means little as to whether he can play football, is the fact that this guy graduated with a degree in chemistry and a minor in mathematics. You know he is not going to be overwhelmed at training camp. His coach Monte Coleman, who played 16yrs. in the NFL and has two SB rings, gave him some sage advice,“Everytime you step on the field is an audition,” Coleman said. “My comments to him, basically, are, ‘You’ve got to conduct yourself on the field like a professional.’ ... Because somebody is always watching.” This year he had 6sks., 5QB hurries, 14tkls. for loss. 3fumble recoveries. In 2009, he had 45tkls., 5sks., and 12TFLs. In 2010, he made the watch list for the Defensive Performer of the Year in the FCS.

63. Anthony Gaitor CB Florida International 5'9" 180lbs.
Gaitor is small in stature, but big in heart. He has the speed and athleticism for the position that most have when coming out of the college, but what really stands out is his physicality. Anthony was selected as All-Sun Belt 1st Team. Gaitor was named Sun-Belt Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2010, the second time limiting Jerrel Jernigan(one of my favorite WRs in the draft) to just 32yds. This season saw him have career highs in TFLs(8) and sks.(3). While most get hyped on their coverage ability and Gaitor has that in his toolbox, his willingness to mix it up against big WRs is what sets him apart from other under sized CBs. He will also eagerly come up and help out on run support or blitzes. He projects as only a slot defender, but his attitude may persevere to allow him to become more..

64. Baron Batch RB Texas Tech 5'9" 210lbs.
Selected as a 2010 Honorable Mention All-Big12. He did not have the season in 2010 as he expected because of having to split carries with Eric Stephens. He did rush for 816yds. on 177 carries with 5TDs. Batch had 3 straight 1,000 all-purpose yard seasons. Has a good first step and reaches top speed quickly. Keeps his pad level down giving the opponent a small target. At 5'9", is able to hide behind the line and burst through when the hole presents itself. He does not have the greatest vision and can lose balance at times. He projects as a solid pass blocker and short yardage RB.

65. Edmond Gates WR Abilene Christian 6'0" 195lbs.
In 2010, Gates had 66 catches for 1,182yds. and 13TDs. He was a main cog in the teams ability to accomplish an undefeated regular season. He was was the 7th player in school history to gain 1,000yds. and the 5th to have more than 60 catches in a season. In his career at ACU, he accumulated 2,885yds(2nd all-time), 158recs.(3rd), 27TDs(1st tie), and 194pts.(4th). He earned All-Lone Star Conference and South Division WR of the Year in 2010. He was also named All-American 2nd team by Daktronics. He ranked 2nd in the conference and 25th in DII in yds/game(98.5). Gates shows great body control, agility, balance, and leaping ability. He is an effective blocker in the running game.

66. Taylor Boggs C/OG Humboldt State 6'3" 303lbs.
Boggs played on a squad that ranked 5th in all of D-II allowing only 8sks. in 11 games. Boggs has twiced been named as Strength and Conditioning All-American. As you might expect, he has great upper body strength; combine this with his nasty on-field disposition, non-stop motor, low pad level, powerful hips and hands, and you see why former Pro-Bowl C LeCharles Bentley highly endorses him. Boggs is adept at pulling and getting to the 2nd level to explode and finnish players. He is comfortable in pass protection and shows the ability to anchor. Really the only argument against him is the level of competition.

67. Joe Horn WR Ashland 5'11" 196lbs.
Probably one of the best unknowns from D-II entering the draft. He is a football player with track star speed rather than just a fast guy that plays ball. Runs a consistent 4.3/40 and has exceptional quickness(sub 3.9 in the SS and sub 6.5 in the 3-cone). If you talk about Ashland's receiving and return records, there is a good chance that Joe Horn's name is going to complete the sentence: longest TD catch - 96 yards (twice); career TDs - 28; career yardage - 2,681 (170 catches - second all-time); tied record for TD catches in a game - 4; tied TDs in a game - 6 ... averaged 17.8 yards per catch with 12 TDs to lead GLIAC in '10 in both categories. Set school record for KO returns as a soph with 5 for 164 (84 yards longest) in opening game ... had 93-yard TD return in his final game ... special teams performer with 3 career punt blocks. Oh, I forgot to mention that he was an 8 time All-American sprinter for the Eagle track and field team. If that was not enough, he is an intelligent player - Campbell Trophy semifinalist (2010), ESPN District 4 1st Team All-Academic, and 3-time Academic All-American (track)and All-Academic GLIAC (track and football). At 5'11", he possesses large hands(9 3/4ins.) which helps him when he is going up to pluck the ball out of the air. He runs precise routes and can mislead a defender to gain separation. He is also tough having played most of the '09 season with a broken wrist. If you want to knock him, what will he do against the jam at the LOS? Will he be able to block downfield against larger defenders? Is he a big fish in a small pond or is he a shark that is able to traverse a vast ocean ? He is projected to go in the 7th rd.

68. Marc Schiechl DE/OLB Colorado School of Mines 6'3" 260lbs.
At the Cactus Bowl Schiechl was the Defensive Player of the Game, with 8 tackles and 2 sacks. In the game, he made Cameron Bradford (Grand Valley State) and Trevis Turner (Abilene Christian) look like they had never played college football before. He’s a Division II All-American and the all-time career sacks leader in D-II, with 46. He lost out on the award for Division II Lineman of the Year to the OC at Slippery Rock, Brandon Fusco. He is easily quicker and faster than most OL he faces at the D-II level, has an explosive first step. While he is a pass-rushing specialist, he can also play the run. It is a wait-and-see what he would do against NFL OL, but he has tremendous power in the upper body and knows how to transfer it to the field. Being a former wrestler, he knows how to use leverage to his advantage. He has a non-stop motor.
