Vernon Carey is not at practice

Let's say we do cut him and then sign braylon and ohara. LT-long, LG-Incognito, C-Pouncey,RG-ohara, RT-Jerry... Braylon should be cheap also because not much interest and then finish the trade for orton. That's a sick team

I'll have what he's having.

$*** or get off the pot, why wouldn't we just cut him and make use of the limited time we have this off season. If we are gonna cut the man then just do it, looks like the Z. Miller boat has set sail so why free up this space now? Columbo is a back up folks, we would have to move Jerry to rt IMHO if we cut big Vern.

Please please please don't let Columbo be our starting tackle. Carey is still upper-tier

if he's been cut damn i've nailed another one...big contract they want to get out from under...watch out for y bell also people...these guys don't take pay cuts they may walk the plank...its all about the cap and the contract with these aging vets...play doesn't equal the pay get out if possible

anyways...i find it hard to believe these guys really want to roll with columbo but honestly right tackles aren't that hard to find...

Do you think they may put Jerry at RT?

I actually wouldn't mind losing Carey - I think he was a reach in the first round to begin with and has enough negative plays to counter his reputation as a top RT. I just would hate to release him without getting anything for him. He's got to have some trade value I'd think.

Besides Crowder and Dobbins, he was a predictable "to be cut" candidate. However, if they really had that on their mind, why not draft a tackle for depth and/or replacement? Surely Colombo isn't "their guy". Wait, he is an ex-Cowboy. Nevermind. :)

Either that, or he just needed a night off for personal reasons. :)

It's hardly fair to consider a top RT a reach in the first round when he is going into his 9th year in the league as one of the highest paid at his position. You have guys like Derrick Harvey and Jason Allen bouncing around the league, hell Ronnie Brown can't even get signed . . . and Carey has been solid.

He has trade value, but I doubt anybody is going to trade for him knowing Miami wants a solid OLine. They will wait until he is cut and go from there, if he is cut.

hard to say...before i gave up on him i would...he's got right tackle feet...don't think the arm length is ideal but he's got solid feet for such a big man...him murtha who did ok last year when he played believe it or not to my eye at least and garner maybe...

its not anywhere near as hard as finding that protect the qb blindside lef tackle...not even close
