Ask yourselves one question, how much would he garner in a trade NOW? I'm guessing at most, a 2nd or 3rd rd pick.
Professional sports is full of exceptional athletes. However, what separates one great athlete from another is intelligence and mental toughness. Marshall does not always play smart and he is certainly not mentally tough. He's no Jerry Rice or Larry Fitzgerald, that's for sure. He's more of a Randy Moss type i.e his physical attributes you will marvel at, but when things are tough he will either disappear or do something stupid.
Championship teams are made up of mentally tough, natural leaders. He's not of that caliber. He could play on a championship caliber team as long as there are other leaders on the team and he becomes just a piece of the offense, but not the principal guy (a la Jerry Rice). In that sense, he's not worth the contract he was given.
