Wells report delayed until late next week or early the following week

Actually IMO, if I were them, I'd be a helluva lot more pissed at Martin for this unmanly charade which crowbarred Incog deep into the corner and shone a negative spotlight on the team.. and then if that wasn't enough, even more so at Martin for not letting it lie by scheduling a high profile, SB week softball profile with the non-confrontational, gullible Tony Dungy in an attempt to nail the door to that corner shut. Incog cast a wider negative spotlight on himself more so than his teammates and had no choice but to react to Martin and his handlers' contrived shenanigans. No one can be that naive as to expect someone who's gratuitously scapegoated and demonized as a pariah to bite the bullet and go down gently without striking back as best he can. :idk:
Personally if I were thrown under the bus unfairly as a racist and bully by someone I supported as a friend, no possible payback options would be off the table.

I don't think simply being attacked gives you the right to respond wildly and carelessly in a way that might possibly threaten innocent people's careers. "He started it" is not a catch all defense of any and all behavior. What did Will Yeatman do to anybody? What did Sam Brenner do to anybody? Nothing at all. Yet there's only one person hurting them here, and that's Richie.

Whether you're sympathetic to Incognito in the Incognito/Martin saga or not, it's pretty clear by this point he's a repulsive human being. The golf incident shows that if nothing else does. If Martin's actions helped get rid of Richie, then what he did can't be all bad, imo. Especially if it also helps us get rid of Turner. A nice little two-fer.

Would they have been quoted like that, in bulk? I tend to doubt it.
The media look like fools the way they went overboard Martins side. You better believe they are going to pick these texts apart, to find anything to save face. Nothing will be overlooked, especially drug use. Also, now that the season is over, this will be the talk of the nfl. Expect a heavy dose of the Wells report findings.

Incognito complains about delayed Ted Wells report, takes shot at Martin’s agent
That’s apparently not good enough for Dolphins guard Richie Incognito. He has taken to Twitter to complain about the delayed resolution of the case.

“Paul, Weiss, Rifkind — Really taking your time on this one,” Incognito said, in reference to the firm for which Wells works. “Not like my career and life have been in the balance for 3 months.”

It’s probably not wise for Incognito to complain before the report has been finalized. If Wells is on the fence about any of the key issues, why risk saying anything that would potentially nudge him in the wrong direction?

Wells isn’t the only guy who has had a Twitter bomb hurled his way by Incognito. Per a league source, Incognito tweeted — then deleted — a direct shot at agent Kenny Zuckerman, who represents Dolphins tackle Jonathan Martin.

“Jon martin’s agent is Kenny Zuckerman at priority sports,” Incognito tweeted, per the source. “Let’s just say he’s not very ‘trustworthy.’ He screwed [Martin].”

That could be (emphasis on the “could”) a reference to the theory/hypothesis that Martin wanted out of Miami and the whole “bullying” angle was developed to allow him to keep the balance of his signing bonus, given the team’s reputation for being very aggressive about financial issues. As the theory/hypothesis goes, what started as leverage to keep more than $1 million in paid but unearned bonus money unexpectedly spiraled out of everyone’s control.

Cogs met with Philbin and Aponte the day after Ireland was fired...Interesting! If Ross has so much faith in Philbin, is it possible Cogs is our starting LG next season?...I'm down.

I would rather hear from Beanie Wells at this point.

David Hyde's take

Richie Incognito surfaces now and then on twitter. Here are five interesting tweets from him:
1. "Paul, Weiss, Rifkind - Really taking your time on this one. Not like my career and life have been in the balance for 3 months." (tweeted Thursday afternoon)

Comment: Paul, Weiss and Rifkind is the law firm Ted Wells works as a senior partner. Incognito was no doubt responding to the fact the report of Wells' NFL investagition was delayed from an expected Thursday release to one late next week or even the week after. What was the delay?

2. "Just to be clear. Jon martin's agent is Kenny Zuckerman at priority sports. Let's just say he is not 'trustworthy.' He screwed JMart." (Thursday - since deleted)
Comment: I've been saying for a while it's time for Zuckerman to come forward and talk. One question as this ordeal started is why Martin - in a text to Incognito - said none of the initial leaks of messages or claims of bullying came from him. Couple that with the fact Martin was owed about $1 million from the Dolphins when he quit the team, one theory involves the use of the "bullying" idea to be assured Martin got that money. In other words, the Dolphins were bullied into paying.
