Let me start off saying im a huge Hartline fan,but he does not offer much in terms of yac.Cleveland is looking for complement for Gordon and Cameron. His contract is reasonable and would prove a great no.2 plus he lives and owns business in cleveland. If we could get a 2nd allowing us a playmaker ie:Beckham,Cooks,or ASF in 1st and address o-line with the 2 nd rders would you do this? I know RT has nice timing with him but he is coming off injury as well as Gibson and Binns .I think we need a playmaker like OB plus he returns kicks which frees up roster spot losing Thiggy

If you can get a 2nd for Hartline, that's an easy call, but I don't know why a team would give up a 2nd for a WR in a draft with a historically strong WR class.

What if..... you don't ever make these threads anymore?

if and only if we drafted a wr at 19 and got a 2nd i think i could live with it. but otherwise no

what if I became the next Queen? Tough to do as im a bloke but as likely as the op

Ya let's just go ahead and trade our most productive and consistent WR the last 2 years for a 2nd round pick. What are the odds that the pick is going to be even remotely close to what Hartline currently gives us. It irritates the hell out of me that once we finally get a productive player on the team that people just want to ship them out for picks.

Has anyone seen us drafting the last 5 years for Christ sakes....for such ****ty draft results we sure do have a lot of people wanting to trade productive players for picks. It wont make us better at all and his cap hit and salary aren't a hindrance to the team, this entire thread is just dumb.

Actually i said replace Hartline with 1st rd pick who has Potential.Iagree Hartline is our most productive wr.How far has that got us? I would love to trade m.Moore for a 2nd but pretty sure that wont work. Just cuz he is our best doesnt make him the answer.M.McKINNEY was our best tackle last year should we keep him too

No one is trading a 2nd round draft pick for Brian Hartline. His contract is unmovable, and he is slightly above average. Therefore, no one will be trading any resources in a draft that is top heavy with receivers.

1) There is no way in hell anyone would give us a 2nd for Matt Moore with his salary this year, hell T. Pryor got a freakin 7th round pick
2) Right now you have a sure thing in Hartline and I can guarantee you that 1st is out of the question with his contract.

There is no one outside of Mike Evans, Sammy Watkins, and Possibly Marquise Lee that would make sense and none of those players are coming to us with the pick we would get for Hartline. Just because we haven't gotten to the playoffs with Hartline doesn't mean you trade him when he is producing like he is

It is a bad value trade for a team that is looking to make the jump to the next level in 2014.

I see where you're coming from.. First I will say that I love Hartline, but as you stated, he doesn't make any plays after the catch. I feel like it's too risky to trade him when we have so many question marks at the position.. However if the coaching staff is sold on Binns as our 4th receiver and they feel comfortable with Gibson on the outside then it wouldn't be so bad. Wallace, Gibson, Matthews, Binns, 1st round talent draft pick, and Williams as our 6th receiver (assuming we keep 6)... Interesting idea

here is my two cents. Hartline is a back-to-back thousand yard receiver, Brandon Marshall is the only other guy that has done that since Marino retired. he is young, reliable, has great hands, a positive influence in the locker room and moves the chains. on top of all that he is Tannehill's favorite receiver. with his contract we eat a $5.8m cap hit this year if he is traded while saving $200k. even with a second round pick we are hurting ourselves more than it could help us. we have Gibson who is coming back from a big injury and it is not smart to trade someone in the prime of their career like this.
