What is the difference between the Dolphins and Jets?

I don't care about stats...Sanchez is the more 'complete' QB. In fact, I think there is an enormous gap between him and Henne, especially when you consider Sanchez's playoff experience now. The playoffs are an entirely different dynamic than the regular season.

That said, we do tend to match up pretty well against the Jets, which is why I think we've had success against them over the past few years.

Regular season Sanchez sucks, plain and simple. His team carries him.

Playoff Sanchez... a completely different story. That guy *is* a great QB.

I separate them because they're completely different guys. So far, Sanchez has stepped up big time in the playoffs. It's quite a sight to see...

Sexy Rexy wasn't here for the past 5 games.

2010 Split
2009 Dolphins 2-0

3-1 Dolphins ... but let's be honest ... you were clearly outplayed in 2 of your wins against us.
When your offense gains less than 250 yards in two games, and you win both times, you've been VERY fortunate.

We'll see what happens this year.

The Jets didn't dominate the Dolphins the last time they played. The Jets offense outsucked Miami's offense and they won that **** in NY.

The 09 game where Ginn had those returns sure, but that's still the Jets own fault.

I don't think there is a huge gap talent wise. I think it starts at the top. We have a better owner, better GM and better HC & coahcing staff. Your owner is young in this game and hopefully for you guys will learn and he'll hire the right people after he gets rid of this regime soon.

Talent wise we hit on our QB, you guys haven't taken a shot w/ a 1st rd QB.

We have more drafted stars. We get headlines for FA pickups and trades but it starts w/ the draft. The jets philosphy has been quality over quantity, parcells/Ireland like a million picks and hope a few hit.

The biggest difference going into 2011? The coaching staffs. Switch the staffs and Miami is a title contender and the Jets a playoff contender. rex and his staff are that good.

Longterm the biggest difference has been from the top down, our Gm has been doing a good job since 2006. he knows how to draft talent(thank our staff of scouts for that), he knows how to work the cap and he knows how to acquire talent via trades/FA. Mike Tannenbaum would have upgraded the dolphins QB situation this offseason if he was your GM- he would have found a way.

NYJUNC I always like your posts. There is some merit to what you say here, but i think you would also agree with the following:

Sanchez > Henne
Keller > Fasano
Jets OL > Dolphins OL
Jets RB's > Dolphins RB's
Revis > Davis

I would say talent level is pretty close at WR, DL, LB, Safety.

One BIG advantage is Westhoff, I am still ticked off about that steal.

Fixed. Gtfo.

Coaching. I think Rex Ryan is a better coach. He's a blowhard with a foot fetish but he gets the most out of his team. Also I think the GM for the Jets is much more aggressive. I think talentwise we're very close though.

The Jets are no where ... no how. If your better than us why do you struggle to beat us every time? Lol. Why is Rexy 1-3 against the Fins.

You don't have more talent, you have better coaching, the end /thread.

:lol2::lol2:

How did Revis do in 2010?

After he got healthy?

Calvin Johnson 1 rec, 13 yds
Andre johnson 4 recs, 32 yds
Hines Ward(reg season) 2 recs, 34 yds
Reggie Wayne(playoffs) 1 rec, 1 yd
Hines Ward(playoffs) 2 recs, 14 yds

I thought you were kidding when you said Davis was better tha revis but you aren't? You lose all credibiblity w/ that homer statement. davis is good, revis is all time great. the 2 aren't anywhere near each other at this point.

all time great eh?? lol, the only ppl who think revis is all time great are jets fans. Can he become all time great? maybe, who knows, right now he is just an elite cornerback. Davis will be catching revis soon, he has all the tools revis has and better athleticism. Revis has just had a bit more time to get polished in the nfl.

Good post. This is about where I see it. Sanchez has been good in big games. I give the Jets the edge there also.
Keller and Fasano isn't even debatable.
Dolphins OL is currently completely untested.
Dolphins running backs are untested except for Bush.
Revis in #1 or #2 in the league. Davis is not close. McCourtey is second best in the division and far closer than Davis.
Jets overall defensive backfield is much better. Revis, Cromartie, Leonard and Smith.
Wide receiver is even but the nod goes to the dolphins if Plax goes down with a bad back.
Defensive line has to go to the dolphins. Phins are close to tops in the league here.
LB could be a wash if Burnett plays well. If not, Jets are better here.

Thats all.

You guys just don't get it, this would be like me saying mark sanchez is going to catch dan marino some day. revis is a defensive version of Marino. he is playing at a level like marino '84. Most dolphin fans see it bt there are some homers that just cannot give the Jets any credit.

You know marshall is a playmaker but you wont admit it.What does this make you?

He's not a playmaker, he's a great possession WR. That doesn't mean he isn't a top WR, reggie Bush is a playmaker but reggie isn't a good RB. I'd rather have Marshall than Bush.
