What is your worst moment as a Dolphins fan?

You are wise beyond your years because that was mine as well. Miami has the leading rusher in the NFL and Wanny passes the ball 4 times on the Pats 10 yard line!
And the worst part about is that Huizinga STILL didn't fire him! And the next draft practically everyone and his brother knew we were probably going to go after a LT in the first round, which allowed the Iggles to slip ahead of us and get Shawn Andrews, while Wanny and Mueller got fleeced out of a 3rd(?) rounder to move up one spot and take Carey.

Anyone who is old enough will agree with this...

The 1974 divisional playoff game loss against at Oakland...with the infamous "sea of hands" catch. It was the end of our dynasty.

Thats the game for me! I still pissed whenever I see video clips of that game. I still remember Nat Moore returning the opening KO for a TD though.

The day the team hired Jimmy Johnson. I knew that he was not going to do anything because he didn't have Herschel Walker to trade, and that his ego would limit Marino's chance to play the game anyway but Jimmy's.

This is probably not going to sit well with a lot of people, but who cares? For me, it was JJ being announced as the 'Phins HC. We went from one of the classiest HCs in the league to one of the most boorish, overrated, and egocentric ones. As far as I can remember, everything he's said about the Dolphins' history (at least before his arrival) has been negative. On top of that, he wastes Marino's final years with numerous unsuccessful attempts to turn the Dolphins into a running offense.

The thing that hurts the most about that game is that if Csonka, Kiick, and Warfield hadn't signed with the WFL, we probably would have won that game going away instead of it being a close Raiders victory.

1999 when we lost so badly to the Jags. I knew that was Marino's last chance to win the Super Bowl.

Far and away my worst moment as a Dolphin fan. I think I could add up all the misery from any other event, and they won't total up to that game.

I was five and remember breaking a camera that we had (because i threw it) under the christmas tree. Camera's back then weren't necessarily cheap and I got grounded but dammit I'm a DOLPHIN FAN.

My top five:

1. 1974 playoff loss to the Raiders.
2. Loss to the Chargers in OT in 1982 playoffs.
3. Dan Marino's last game, losing 62-7 to the Jaguars.
4. SB loss to the Redskins/SB loss to the 49ers.
5. Blowing the game after a 20+ point lead to the Jets on Monday night.

Hey Aqua... it was Gary Anderson and not Morty, and that one hurt me too. Tops for me, however, is the Patriots beating (down) a much better team in the Dolphins for the right to play the Bears in the '85 Superbowl. Not that I believe we would have beat the Bears, but certainly would have given them much more a challenge...

My worst moment is, at the gun after a loss and the days till the next Win

I've always thought the failure of the '74 team was because defensive guru Bill Arnsparger left to coach the Giants...it was the defense that let us down that day.

Reading this thread...just kidding, I didn't even read the thread, I just skipped to the end and made a snide comment about it. what a jerk i am

im gunna go with the 2002 overtime patriots loss i sat in my seat until the usher escorted me out i was in complete shock. From that day on i hated tom brady and troy brown more than anything

my worst moment was the Monday night loss against the Jets in 2000. Living in Germany one could see about ONE Dolphins game A YEAR! When I was in Turkey (job purposes) I went to bed at about 1 AM and switched on TV just to find taht they aired on some kind of US channel the game. Needless to say I watched it until about 5 AM. The loss did not get me any sleep and my dreadful meeting started at 9 AM. Great day as you can assume.
