What was the most disapointing loss in Dolphin history?

Yep good ole Pete Stoyanavich, and Uwe von Schamann, and Olindo Mare.....we Fins fans should be able to give them a punch to the nose after some of these losses. My fave kicker is still Garo Yepremian....I love to watch how he "volleyball spiked" it up in the air against the Redskins in Superbowl VII and it got run back for a TD...we still won it 14-7.....you can laugh about it now as we won!!!!! :)

How about the the Jets Monday Night Miracle. That loss really hurt me and at that point I knew wanny was a Crappy(worse word I would like to use) coach.

Mod: Thank you for that. We hope more people show that kind of restraint.

Ya Im with you. That game just royally pissed me off, not to mention all the Jet fans at school gettin on me. There was no excuse for that game.

MondayNightMeadowland miracle...

you're exactly right, that's why that Riggins run ripped my heart out. I'll never get over that one.

No doubt, that one is right up there.

I guess I picked the 1985 AFC Championship game because going in I just knew going in it was destiny that the Dolphins and Bears were going to rematch in Superbowl XX, I just couldn't see a Shula team making that many mistakes in the Orange Bowl, also the Dolphins were 5-0 in previous AFC Championship games under Shula.....I just didn't see it coming.

That must be why I have no recollection of that game...

hands down, its got to be that monday night miracle loss to the jest, honestly i threw up after that game :barf:

Dan's last game was the worst for me, because I knew it was over at that point for him. That shoulder injury took everything off his throws.

This one takes the cake for me. Hands down.

It's funny, a good friend of mine who is a Bears fan hates the Dolphins TO THIS DAY because the Dolphins lost to the Patriots, robbing Da Bears at a chance for revenge.

That game would have been off the proverbial hook.

The 84 Super Bowl loss was crushing of course, but it's only truly disappointing in retrospect. The 85 AFC Championship was devastating from Day One.

Well, based on my spotty memory and being a fan through only the 90s and 00s, these games stick out to me. All of them are mentioned before, but why not mention them again?

1) The Monday Night Massacre. I stayed up until 1 AM on a school night for that? Somehow Arnold Schwarzenegger calls the comeback AND the presidential election correctly that night. He should have given us lotto numbers as well. Well, he just happened to be a Republican Jets fan, but still...

2+3) Those games a couple years back against Minnesota and New England where the Fins just had to win to get in the playoffs. Thankfully, I slept through all but the last 2 minutes of the Minnesota game, but unfortunately, I sat through that New England game. I was glad that the Jets won and knocked the Dolphins out of the playoffs after that. I really didn't need to suffer through another Dolphins playoff blowout.

4) The Dolphins-Bills AFC Championship game. I was there, and the best part was when my mom got me an ice cream float. Wasn't this the same year when they blew out the Chargers in that monsoon? I miss that game because of the low visibility on the road, but I get to see this.

5) The 62-7 loss. It's the Dolphins in the playoffs, and it's over after the first quarter. It's Dan Marino's final game, and he might as well have just let Jay Fiedler play and take the fall.

For me the worst loss was to Buffalo in the AFC championship Game..nothing even comes close to that one for me..still makes me sick..:fire:

I remember that game too. I thought for sure we would be going to SB. We had everything working for us. Marino was having a great year.....we had gotten the championship game in our house, and Thurman Thomas just ran all over us and they kept the ball out of Marino's hands.

Remember too, that was the year that Buffalo came back from down 35-3 against Houston. They never should have even been there!! I hate the BILLS!!!:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

Jay Fiedler did play that day, but for Jacksonville. He tore up the already beaten Dolphins D, and that performance is what made dumb *** Wanny go and sign him.

The funny thing is, in the Jacksonville game, Fiedler did play....for Jacksonville, and through like four TDs in the game against us. Shredded our D. If you think about it, who was the D coordinator at the time? Dumbstedt!! He fell in love with big ears that day! He knew who he wanted as soon as he was made coach, and that doomed us for five years! So in a sense that game cost us 5 or 6 years of contending! Definitely a loss that hurt more than most for reasons outside of the score!!
