Why is everybody so quick 2 4get that tannehill was supposed to sit for 2-3 years

We all knew going in2 this that ryan tannehill was not gonna be john elway in year 2. I signed up for this "project" I knew what I was getting myself into and so did u. Everybody screamed for a franchise QB so we took one. Did we all forget what mike mayock said before the draft? What about kiper mcshay all said this would be a 2-3 year project. Mayock said "the kid can make all the throws but i would be scared to death to start the kid right away. Let him sit 2-3 years and in year 4 you might have a stud." Everybody voiced concern about how raw he was. He was a cornerback in highschool. Then QB. Then WR. Then back to QB. He is still in the learning phase of trying to learn to be a QB. He beat luck ryan wilson weeden dalton. When i watch weeden play i say "omg this dude is not a franchise QB." The browns and everybody knew they need a QB. Weeden is a bust. But not many outsiders will say tannehill is a bust yet. Tirico said "the nice young looking QB for miami." Or "tannehill is on fire right now 12 straight completions. Tannehill has to improve his pocket presence yes absolutely. Tannehill had to learn to run when the pocket breaks down yes we know. Tannehill had to cut down the turnovers and he actually has the last few games. Tannehill has actually completed 50% of his deep balls this year but only 24% to wallace. He is resilient and fearless and bounces back like bills game 2 ints only to throw 3 straight tds. Be careful what you wish for tannehill is "progressing" not "regressing" he hasnt reached his ceiling yet. Henne peaked in year 2 tannehill hasnt. His numbers are up in every major category. Be careful to show him the door to quickly good QBs are not easy to find these days and tannehill is pretty good already. Unless u can pull off a trade for big ben or u are 100% about somebody in the draft then just let the kid grow.
Kid is playing with a horrible oline horrible run game injury depleted weaponry w keller binns gibson gone and WRs who cantr separate.

Now i have no clue how good tannehill can be i personally think he can be a top 7-12 QB if we give him time. I knew this was a project so im gonna be patient.

2012: QBR 76.1, completion pct 58%, yards 3,294 TD 12

2013: QBR 81.2, comp pct 61, yards 2,206 TD 13

Must look at context of situation.

Fins had a fresh start with a new coach and needed a new face of the franchise hence Tannehill must start right away. Fins around bottom in ticket sales and needed a boost, in addition with the now failed stadium upgrade pitch, Ross and Ireland needed to create interest and "hype" around the team.

In addition at the time we had a very old team and it's even older now. Tannehill has another 2-3 seasons with the Fins core as it sits now. Wake, Soliai, Starks, Incog will be near or into down side of careers.

If we take into account "old" roster, Dansby, Burrnett, Reggie would also be thrown into that pile.

Look at Big Ben for example. He was tossed in because the Steelers had a old team, beyond old team. He won big with that core intact and now will go through years of rebuilding as we see the Steelers strugle.

I don't think anyone can safely say he's a bust yet, but I also don't think anyone can safely say he'll ever be any better than he is now.

But But But hoops is the expert and he thinks Tannehill is Marino!!
Tannehill's ceiling isn't much higher than it is now. Maybe he can be Phillip Rivers eventually, which is fine. But, he lacks the mental ability, makeup, IT factor, and accuracy to be elite

It's the only major reason why I was not in favor of taking the QB with the 8th pick overall pick.. He's obviously not ready for primetime. He needs another year or 2. I'm patient enough because I see major potential, but I KNOW fans are not.. Hell it's only Philbins second year and according to most microwave-world fans, he needs to be fired already :err:

Can't build anything with this fanbase... If i'm Ross I really do look into leaving town.

They only drafted him bc they were desperate. I don't blame them at all for picking him. he may be a top 10 qb, never elite. Once Luck and Griffin were gone and they HAD to get a QB he was the guy. Would I rather have Russel Wilson, probably. but, who saw that coming?? Could have been Weeden..I actually wanted Kapernick, but Kap will be a bust he will never be an accurate passer..

Wow man, no need to bash individuals.

So....what would you say of RGIII, Luck, and Wilson? Last I checked all 3 are doing worse stats and QB wise than Tannehill.

Sure you can look into W-L records, but thats a team result not an individual.

Guess Peyton Manning was a bust his first two years ?

look boss you want to talk football to me then do it...i have yet to figure out just how much you know...but i will

i already know shouwrongs got nothing

and starting with rg3 is a "toss up" is not helping you...

I would rather have Luck 100000 times over and anyone who wouldn't must not have a pulse.
Wilson probably
RG3- Toss up

Look, I like Tannehill, he makes some great throws (intermediate), I don't think he will ever be elite. but, he can def be a top 10 QB.
People anointing him as can't miss make me sick. he has had a tendency to shrink late in games, cant throw a deep ball, cant go through a progression etc.
Good thing is, he has def improved over last year even with a disastrous O-line, OC, and run game. If I had to take one side or the other, I would predict he is our QB for a long time. Maybe wins a playoff game or 2 and makes a pro bowl....Not a super bowl, elite type QB, IMO
But, I don't claim to know for sure, lets wait and see

Henne had never came close to making some of the throws that RT does. That comparison is crazy.

RT has improved with a horrible oline and run game. Wallace hasn't made a huge impact either. He also has dealt with substandard coaching as well. His biggest problem he has to correct is ball security.

He gets year three in my book. If he doesn't show progress or regresses we look in another direction.

The problem is, Tannehill is just plane average man. If hes to be any better hes gotta work on his throws.. We can sit here and crituque online and saying what ifs but the fact is...hes been off lately and consistently. He makes the difficult ones and misses the wide open ones. hes got alot of work to do...i just dont think we cant wait too much longer when you have rookies coming in nowadays lightening it up.. dolphins been waiting too long.

I'll gladly wait for Rt to develop because he's going to be a upper tier QB in this league. I just hope the oline doesn't get him killed first!

Hoops never said he would be Marino, so nice straw man. You then proceed to use ridiculous nonsensical fan speak and make statement about mental makeup like you would know anything about that.

Sit for 2-3 years behind who? Garard? Hell no. He was supposed to start ASAP.

yeah the guy disses me but then i get a friend request from him...wtf???

Sitting for three years is a joke! No one here or anywhere wants a three year wait as a solution. Especially if it is on someone unproven and undeveloped. Anyway, this is along way from being all on Tannehill.

You guys want to know what an average qb is look at Andy Dalton.
4 year starter plus a redshirt year at TCU
Third year in the NFL
The guys has the keys to a cadillac offense

and still is rolling around with games that have Jake Plummer stat lines
