why not build around matt moore...

Fiedler never had anything more than a #2 reciever,a great back and #2 tight end in mcmichael.the o-line was still the worse in the league,so how did we build with fiedler? NOW we actually have a team that has some great pieces and can only get better..you can't tell me that Moore despite how poor you think of him can't get better with a full off season and training camp knowing he is the guy...you don't have to be 22 years old or a high first rounder to win games..with good coaching the things he struggles with.pocket presence, holding on the ball too long can't be fixed with good coaching and commitment.you never know till you try.the a.j feeleies, ray Lucas,John becks of the world has warped our minds that a qb that's not highly touted can't succeed here...I am all for improving the position, but cam newtons and Aaron rodgers doesn't come around every year.

Hmm i guess you missed the memo that we traded two number ones to new orleans for ricky williams while we passed On Brees because he was no better than Fielder lol. Also hate to tell you mcmichale was a number one te here you must be thinking of fasano lol. we did try to improve wr but my point was we stood pat at qb instead of bringing in a guy to develop. we dont know which matt moore will show up next year because he is not consistent and to count on him without a true option is stupid.

What are your options for next season?please let me know...I'm pretty sure someone else is goin after flynn harder than we are..elaborate,because I am interested in hearing what you all that are opposed to the building around Moore idea has to say...start a rookie? Jason campell?Im a realist and just wondering what idea is better than someone that is already winning games here.

Does your qb have to be a 1st rounder?highly touted free agent?Or can they be the right guy at the right time and actually has an consistent chance to succeed? Why not just improve the team to a point where we are like the 49ers..Alex smith isn't the most explosive, but they're team looks somewhat similar to ours..besides the great tight end and a few defensive pieces that we are lacking.free safety and another pass rusher.what I'm saying is,he isn't a horrible qb and with the full reigns in the offseason/training camp..why not? If you can't get peyton manning.Realistically, who are your choices to lead the squad? Maybe Flynn but yet unproven even with the huge game.I believe with the decent schedule we have, another solid draft, add a few pieces in free agency and a full offseason.why can't we have a 49ers or broncos turn around?get to the playoffs at least? We aren't completely void of talent and if the new coach is half way decent, why not us?we have such a negative outlook on all of our qbs and team (which is understandable) but Matt Moore has done nothing but played the best any qb could have under the circumstances.this team is close...just my opinion, but I think this guy can at least hold the reins of this team till we find the right guy,not force a guy in here just to have a "qb"
Alex Smith was picked first overall.

Thread won.

matt moore was .500 so lets not act like he is this tremndous winner. he started 12 games won 6. draft a rookie , look at all free agents and start the best player. hell start moore and see what he does but under no circumstances just sit back and assume he will be our long term qb, he has been up and down

Mchmichael was o.k not great...derrius Thompson?lol mcknight?these were our recieving options besides the great Chris chambers.name a decent lineman besides jeno James.lol cmon be serious...you can never succeed as a qb under those conditions.Ricky Williams was our only pro bowler on offense.now we have long pouncey bush and Marshall.

If there is a better option by all means get him...but by no means don't get a qb just to get one

Time for the scouting department to earn their checks and find a diamond within the coal.
we dont need to trade teh future.... we just need people to excel at their jobs or find employment elsewhere

Actually in 2002 Jamie Nails was damn good. Randy Mcmichael had three sixty catch seasons including 73 in 2004. Mark Dixon and Todd Wade were pretty damn good along with Tim Ruddy. we traded for marty booker who had been a pro bowler.. drafted vernon carey. Jeno james for one was horrible

Some peoples' insistence in not drafting QBs is incredible. You'd never believe this is the franchise that a little over 10 years ago had the best QB ever playing for it. Since, the rules have changed to favour not just the QB but the pass game too... Yet people are still happy to accept mediocrity under centre.

I loved watching Moore last year but only really because he wasn't Henne. It's a case of... Thanks Matt, here's a backup job for life, if you want it.

I didn't want to draft Matt Ryan, or a QB last year to be totally honest as I wanted Henne to get another shot. Right now though, I wouldn't mind spending a first round pick every single year on a QB until we find our guy. Then we can worry about the freaking running game.

Trent Richardson... Shoot me now.

They were o...k..not Jake long or even pouncey as a rookie! Again mchmichael was our best option besides gulp chambers..that was not a good offensive squad no matter how you try and spin it...peyton manning maybe...but where is that peyton manning your looking for? You can't make a qb in your mind and he is the next Marino.sure we missed out on brees, but this is now.I am simply saying that Matt Moore was the most productive in the short time he played than these horrible qbs we have been watching over the years besides pennington and I will give fiedler credit for working with wade smith at left tackle who was originally a center.-__-

If you reached on a qb you have to deal with it for st the minimum 3 years...lost years if they don't work out.who would you pick in the 1st round then?nick foles?I'm sure whoever your considering will be there in the 2nd round.I am by no means opposed to getting a qb by the draft, but don't reach just to have a blaine gabbert...

Big deal Moore had a good season in a limited role, so you want to build around a guy that has bounced around the league and ignore qb all together as usual. Moore played good in limited action carolina then as a starter got replaced by jimmy Clauson. Its not a good sign when your team is contantly taking qb's high and you have Matt Moore. I guess Carolina could have stood pat and not drafted anybody, then they would have Moore instead of Newton. Im not dismissing Moore as possibly being our qb solution but one 12 game year does not prove he is the long term answer so why wouldnt we look to improve qb or have a guy to develop. You act like Moore has lit it up every where he has gone and that is the answer. huge mistake to assume qb is good. And you are wrong on Wade Smith he was originally a te.

RG3 or nothing weeden and tenehill look less impressive then matt ryan and that's not saying much.

Because Matt Moore is not a good decision making Quarterback and not worth building around. He does not have the ability to take an offense to the next level despite beating some bad teams this year.

No prrof Gabbert was a reach, he was a rookie qb that played like Moore did in his last season in carolina in fact he played better. Moore had a 55 qb rating his last year in carolina
