We'll three of the four teams left have a first round qb. Two of which are 1st overalll picks, why not go against the grain of the franchises train of thought since 83 and try to nab a 1st rounder?!

Moore had a losing record against a schedule with 1 team with a winning record. He is a fumbleing machine with zero pocket presence and can't deliver in the clutch. No!

Against a last place schedule and that guy running the 23rd ranked offense.

That's the biggest point that needs to be realized here. Believe me I'm all in for upgrading our QB, all for it 100%. But if we do everything we can and do not land a clear upgrade over Moore I would hate to see us change just to change. If we miss out on Luck, RG III or even Manning many posters here will go to desperation mode and start wanting to go with another guy simply because he's not Matt Moore.in some cases that would be dumb but many will not be able to lose their obsession with replacing the incumbent at all costs.

Because aside from Luck and a huge question mark in RGIII, there is not a QB with first round potential. I agree, we need a QB, but we can't draft one if he doesn't exist. As much as I hate losing, I think we stick with Moore, maybe bring in Flynn or Campbell for competition, and reach for the 1st round franchise QB next year, when the draft will have far more talent at QB than this draft.

Did you forget who the person was who was evaluating these QB's? Moore is so much better than Henne it really isnt even debatable. Look to the types of passes being completed by each QB for evidence. One example would be deep throws. Moore is FAR more accurate than Henne at the deep pass. Moore can also throw a fade whereas Henne couldnt throw a fade if his life depended on it. Also, Henne likely will not even be with the team next season however we all know Moore will be given a realistic chance to start.

I would agree with you if I had ever seen Henne play better than Moore did over the 6-3 stretch and I haven't. Also on your backup comment, if Sparano was so great at QB evaluation maybe we should have kept him? Can you really base your argument on what our fired losing coach chose to do?
and he's still better than Henne, so we have a real problem on our hands.

I like RGIII, but he is not worth multiple first round picks.
Matt Moore played pretty good last season. If you disagree with my assessment of Moore...fine.

Let's reach!! Draft Russell Wilson with that 8th pick and force him to be the man! Give up 3 1st rounders for Caleb hanie! I mean geez...its easy to thrash the guy,but where is this imaginary franchise qb we are realistically looking for? I don't hate or love Moore,but don't set him up for failure if that's all we have to turn too...support him with as much talent as you can.a right tackle isn't sexy but if that's the best available player,pick him! I have that feeling because of fan pressure Ireland just may pick a qb that doesn't value that 8th or 9th overall pick..alas it will get bashed no matter what the pick is,what qb starts the season or if we trade down...all any of us wants to do is win and if we do that,the qb will not matter.so I can't predict the future,but I hope and pray we get the right guy and the right coach to lead us to glory.whether that qb is Matt Moore or kellen moore
Carolina believed in Moore and where did that get them? Maybe he is our franchise QB but in NO way do you go into this next season expecting anything more from him than a mediocre season.

Actually, with the schedule we have next season, Moore should be able to get us into the playoffs. And if he is our starter and we miss the playoffs, we have much larger problems on this team than just QB.
