He did regress in 10 after an impressive 5 game stint in 09. But putting that into proper perspective, Moore got concussed in his 1st game, sat out the next 2 and ended up 1-4 as a starter. Now you can say that's bad, but when you consider that Carolina won all of 2 whole games that year, for all intents and purposes, Moore was responsible for 50% of their wins while starting less than 32% of their games. In 2010, Carolina ranked 32nd in scoring, 32nd in pts differentiaql and 26th in points allowed, so you could put most any QB in there and label him a failure. Steve Smith had all of 554 yards on 46 receptions and DeAngelo and Steward combined for about 1150 yards together.
Now compare that to Cam Newton who worked with an upgraded roster this season. Do you know that after the first 10 games he was 1-9.. before he clicked in? And that's with upgraded defense, a fresh coach who wasn't going through the motions as a lame duck and 2 upgraded TEs!!
It's a buzz kill, isn't it when facts and context get in the way of a nice convenient narrative, eh?
