Why Ryan Cook vs....

As a team you can not afford to have high priced backups and have to take players like Cook who are versitle and can play at multiple spots if a starter goes down. The problem is he can't play any of these positions well.

And he has started considerably more games than any of the Dolphin backups including Garner and Berger, who was cut for him. I actually like this move.

What are talking about? TS was not even the HC in 2006. Who coveted him, Nick Saban?

Lol thank you. At least somebody was listening to me. We tried him at a position, He failed miserably. We tried him at another position, He failed miserably. We tried him at the last position, and He failed miserably. That's not versatility! It's failed experimenting. Do some of you guys honestly think that Ryan Cook is better than, or as good as Brian Waters? Jesus. Waters is a former All-Pro. Cook couldn't make the worst depth offensive line in football AS A BACK-UP. Best case scenario for you, he steps his game up and works as a ****ty back-up. He will never be a starter in this league again. He just doesn't have the skill. He should never have been a starter in the first place.
 
Ryan Cook isn't as bad as people are making him out to be. I don't want him as a starter, but depending on the price he's a good backup for near every position.
 
Great backup... as long as it's from the bench, not so good if he has to play. WTF with our OL/Head coach. Why is this still a problem?
 
Ryan Cook has never been a good pro offensive lineman. Oh yea he is versatile just not good at any position.
 
Question to those saying that he is versatile. Let's just say that you take your worst offensive tackle and move him to guard. He gets toasted on every single play. So you try him out at center. He gets toasted again. Would you say that he is versatile, since he had experience at all 3 positions? This versatility talk is ridiculous. You sound like Brad Childress trying to justify his bad play. I think Ryan Cook owes Brad Childress 10% of all future pay checks. Because people are STILL saying the same thing. Let's take a look at the definition.

ver·sa·tile (vûr s -t l, -t l ). adj. 1. Capable of doing many things competently.

He is the most incompetent lineman I've ever seen. He isn't competent at a single position on the line, let alone 4 or 5. I really don't understand this. And I've seen every snap he's ever played. Believe what you want, but don't say I didn't warn you!

so we cut aj edds to fit cooked and if he ever plays we will see lots of penalty's and sacks..
seems like a no brainer move..somebody needs to tell the FO
we need 2 more real starters on the offensive line
tired of watching backups getting starts on the o line..

Maybe he played himself off the team - we have had guys play themselves off this team and succeed elsewhere :rolleyes:

Why did you open an acccount to beat on Cook? 9 flippin posts about a scrub you wanted gone... Did he steal your girlfriend? Why do you honestly care??? I can't get my head around why you are here to bash on Cook???

Yeah I couldn't believe you guys did that. Edds is actually from my hometown. He is a really great kid, as well as a great player. I would love for the Vikings to pick him up (we have worse LB depth than we do OL depth, if that's even possible :/). I hope for your sake that he clears waivers, but that doesn't seem very realistic. Edds for Cook was a horrible trade. But I think Rosario was a great signing!

I've been a closet Phins fan since I came and saw a game in Miami when I was little (Marino era). I lurk over here all the time. Just never really felt the need to post, since I had no information worth posting. As a die-hard Vikes fan that saw every snap of Ryan Cook, I finally felt that I had something to contribute. Sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear. I'm just trying to be honest with you guys.
