Why would anyone take Pitts over Smith?

1980 is cool let me remind you that your Coach's best year has 4 losses lol and Tod Grantham is still your DC.
Oh wow..still..no Natty's since 1980? Damn, dude. What have you done in the last 40+ years? Never won the big one, that's what. We've got three since then. Sucks to suck. And yeah. we won the SEC EAST and then rather faded, that's true..still..Georgia lost Pickens and will finish behind the Gators once again..Kirby Smart can recruit with the best but too bad he couldn't keep Fields, has no qb, can't coach offense..and still y'all can't ever win the big one. 1980..dang!

I think that's an awesome idea w the 1st pick take D Smith and w the 2 nd pick in the 1st they should take Breece Hall since he led the country in rushing as well dang can't lose w this evaluation....that's a great line of thinking

Yeah. You're right...Stats are all that matter, right? It had nothing to do with Waddle getting injured and missing a lot of time that allowed Smitty to get so many yards receiving, huh? Not logical whatsoever!

I think Smith is going to have a heck of a career so I get someone wanting him over Pitts....it's just the reasoning thats no bueno....but I guess at this point it's hard to come up w new arguments:)

I agree..he could be good. No doubt. Stats as a reason? Iffy. No doubt. LOL

After having already dominated the game. Left with a safe lead.

How many games did he miss during his career?? How many the past 3 years as a full time starter??

Talk about grasping at straws.

Where’s your durability concerns and spite toward Kyle Pitts who missed several games this past season? Or toward numerous other prospects that also missed time??

Selective criticism and confirmation bias at its finest. You can’t be taken seriously.
Wow, you're really passionate about Smith. I don't really care who we draft but I think Pitts will be a pro bowl player. Just my opinion, you can feel free to disagree but just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I can't be taken seriously. We can have a discussion like adults not children.

Missing time because of a dirty player headhunting and being called for a majorly illegal hit and targeting to the head really doesn't scare off any team..lame excuse.

A 170lbs twig of a player is a different story! Like it or not!

I mean let's be realistic here. How many prospects with the weight he is packing have actually had a great career in the NFL in the last two decades. The numbers don't lie at all. I can give Chase the benefit of the doubt. For Waddle in spite of his injuries at least he has tools, but is he a Steve Smith? Is Smith a Julio Jones? We don't know for sure but it would concern me if we end up drafting him. Based on the size of the receivers we been drafting at least it relieves me to know that we probably are not going to look that way. If we are drafting a wide receiver we are more likely to go for someone like Chase. Safest route at the end of the day is drafting a solid skilled player like Pitts, but I wouldn't be opposed to drafting Parsons also.
About 5 years ago I was cleaning stuff out and I came across my evaluation notes from 2012. The Dolphins were looking for a QB that year so I had done a bunch of work on QBs. My notes on Russell Wilson basically amounted to: on film the best QBs in the class are Luck and Wilson and they're really close, but Wilson is under 6'0" and few QBs that tall have ever been successful NFL QBs so I'm going to give him a 2nd round grade. Looking back I thought that was a personally embarrassing level of poor reasoning.

By your logic Smitty is a 3rd rounder!

He faced Db's that but up 4.25 times and guys 6'2 over 200 pounds. How much bigger and faster are they in the NFL than the 4.25 and 4.3 guys he beat? The avg NFL DB is what a 4.4-4.5 guy
C'mon with the 4.2 and 4.3 guys in college!! Who are they exactly? Those DBs must be top 10 pick this draft then!
170 lb 6 foot WRs dont play 16 games a season. GTFO! One pop from the Honey badger or Jamal Adams and he is done.

No matter how you paint it, underweight receivers are not successful in the NFL.
