Will Miami pull a San Diego??

Best case scenario - AJ pulls a Brees and we end up like San Diego in 2004.

Worst case scenario - AJ flops and is replaced by Frerotte around week 7 or 8, who doesn't do much better, and we're a 6-10 team.

Most likely - AJ does what he did at the end of last year: counters flashes of brilliance with monumentally stupid plays, but the defense and improved running game make us a .500 club, and we go hunting for a new QB in the offseason.

As it shapes up now, we are the worst team in football's best division. Sad but true. Personally, I do not believe we can win with AJ Feeley. I hope he proves me wrong.

small sampling but in 3-4 games under linehan in minny in 2003:

7-2 TD/Int ratio
118 rating
70% completion % or something insane like that.

Yeah if he can do that on a regular basis id say he can start. Its certainly more than AJ ever has or will show.

Don't get your fellow FinFans worked up with these stats.

That "sampling of 3-4 games" Was three games against ATL, DET, and San Fran.

Rank against the pass for these teams in 03?

Falcons- 29
SanFran- 27
Lions - 25

Gus Ferotte is a nice security blanket, but if AJ bombs he's not gonna be your savior.

mia wont pull a sd but they might pull a new eng, miami may go 5-11 in sabans 1st yr, like bill b did, and then next year they may go all the way....

but sd did that in afc west, not at all tough like the east is, and brees is a very good qb, a j is a big ?

hey patsdynasty, guess what, the dynasty is over...pats are on the decline, bills are stagnant if not on the decline(losman), and the only team im afraid of is the jets, yes i said it, theyre on the rise, and i think theyll win the division...that being said, the fins are on the rise, this year they may improve a little, but just wait till the second year of saban era, it will be something to marvel

People seem to keep forgetting that when they use SD or Carolina as examples why the Phins can go 12-4, those teams were not playing with all new coaches and new offensive and defensive systems.
It took Houck a couple of years to mold SD's line so that Brees had some protection.
It took Fox a couple of years to get his team to the playoffs (and superbowl).

So, if you are going to use those teams as indicators as to how good (or bad) we might be this year, you should be using those team's first year under their coach/system, not the season when the players had 2 or 3 years to get it together.
well said.

Plus Brown has yet to prove he's in Tomlinson's class.

it all depends on AJ.
I think even more than AJ, It all depends on the Offensive Line. Then, if the line holds up, we gotta hope AJ can pull it together and make it happen. Not very worried about the rest of the offense..Just the line and QB. Not worried bout the D at all!

Personally, i don't think the AFC East will be that tough this year. The Pats took alot of hits with key personnel leaving, they our due to come back down. The Bills have a QB in Losman that hasn't really received much playing time, who knows what he will bring. The Jets I don't think will be tough. They our still short on D and Pennington does not impress me, along with Martin getting a year older. The Fins can surprise alot of people in the division and have a good record.

Line play is what will make or break our year, If our line plays as badly as they did last year, we may do even worse, If ricky returns and is able to play near what he did before he quit, we will be fine on offense, our o-line was the worst ever, probably of all time in the nfl, I have never seen anything more pathetic in my life, I could barely watch as someone came through clean on just about every snap last year.

ricky's return will not make or break our season...

we did draft some guy called Brown with the 2nd overall pick.

Maybe Aj will hold out and he wont see the field at all. Oh man that would be great. Oh well, I can always dream :D

You people are unbelievable. :shakeno:
By "you people" I am talking about folks who are bashing Feeley for his play last year. Behind that line, running that scheme (if you can call it that). '84 Marino wouldn't have had a good year last season. Speaking of Dan, he isn't coming back so quit expecting him to show up in Feeley or anyone else.

Bills fans are such losers they think that we are going to suck again yet they are gonna go deep in to the playoffs with basically a rookie QB at the helm. To me that is rediculous, even if Buffalo is a 10-6 team talent wise you have to chalk up at least 2-3 losses due to Losman inexperence. Im sorry but he is not Big Ben like many of them are thinking. I was watching ESPN the other day and they were doing a peice on the Jills and the commentator said we tried to find some positive clips of Losman but during his time on the field last year there were not many positive things happening. I really think that we are going to have a better record than Buffalo. If it wasnt for our Fiedler throwing the ball right into Spikes chest last year we would have beat them in Buffalo, and in Miami our offense torched their D-fense for the eniter first half. We eventually just broke down b/c we had no running game, which is not the case this year. I cant wait until we beat the Bills this season.

If this, if that.

Bottom line we swept you and you were 4-12. If you want to get excited to "try" and have a chance to redeem yourself thats fine.

But as of right now Buffalo, the Bills, and the rest of the NFl has no respect for you. You are on par with SanFran and Cleveland until proven otherwise.

Guys guys guys :shakeno:

Ben rothlisberger was an anomaly, Dan marino was an anomaly, and the Chargers from last year was an anomaly. As much as I yearn for us to go 16-0 regular season the fact is we were 4-12 and had second pick in the draft. If we go 5-11 then we've taken a step in the right direction. 6-10 and we should be content, 7-9 Be happy, 8-8 ecstatic!!! We have one of the top 5 hardest schedules this year, are in the hardest conference in the NFL, have all new coaching, Playbook, and staff.

There's way to many variables to say what our record will be. But know that a .500 season would be incredible for a turn around. Anything higher then that is "an anomaly"

<--- Puts back on orange and teal glasses

WOOHOO Go dolphins :D

 Right on Awning. Folks need to be realistic next year.

BUT....I seriously doubt we get swept by any AFCE team next year...not w/ Nick and a new team. If I were in this division I would be scared sh!tless by the phins...a team w/ excellent talent...and expected to lose. Right where we need to be to SPANK the rest of the division... :D

No for 3 reasons.

1. Brees had more potential than Feely.

2. The AFC West was down last year while the AFC East is still the toughest div in the NFL.

3. Marty was an experienced NFL coach. Not saying Saban won't be a good coach but to expect it in yr 1 is asking alot.
