Worst starting QB in NFL?

I agree that you can win w/ an average QB, but you still need a guy that can make accurate throws & not turn the ball over. Fiedler's problem is that he throws too many picks. It's hard to get too far when your QB throws 20 INT's every year! Ricky will take some pressure off & should open up the passing attack, but you still need a decent QB that can make 3rd down conversions, not turn the ball over, & can stretch the field to open up the running game.
 
fthedish is the smartest man alive fiedler sucks and he always will like i will keep saying he will not take the dolphins to the super bowl.. wasnt he 3rd string in jacksonville?????
 
dolphinator13, you have yet to make a logical assessment as to why Fiedler sucks so much. 3rd string in Jacksonville? He was second string. Also, who was their starter? Oh yea, Mark Brunell. I'd love to hear your reasoning.

fthefish, fiedler did just fine on 3rd down conversations. I agree he could have done better. Take this into consideration. Chan would run on 1st and 2nd down, with Lamar getting stuffed on one or both runs. How easy is it to convert a 3rd and long? While this wasn't tha case all of the time, it was a lot of the time. Everyone seems to foget that Fiedler is a 3rd year starter now. It takes time to adjust. Even with that in mind, Fiedler still only threw 4 INTs in the last 7 games. Believe it or not, most games we lost were not his fault. The only 2 that come to mind right now are the 2 Jets games, other than that i don't think any were his fault. By the way what with the name? its not funny or anything.
 
the thing that gets me, is these guys think that fiedler calls the plays. it had to be a moron that called that lob pass on 1st and goal from the 6. since the receiver was double covered, huard as bad as he was, would have thrown the damn thing out of bounds though!
 
hes no good cant beat playoff teams in the regular season and post. all the teams we lost to this year niners,jets,pats,rams, all made the playoffs, all games which fiedler sucked in.. maby because he cant beat good teams
 
you are blaming al those losses on Fiedler alone? Did you watch the games? I dunno if Fiedler threw 3 INTs in the San Fran game, but if he did, he was under constant pressure the whole game. The Fins were down 21-0, of course you're going to have to put it in the air. None of the losses you mentioned were Fiedlers fault. Watch the games. Only the Jets losses were Fiedler's fault. Blame Lamar for the loss at the patriots, Fiedler had an awesome game that day. Blame the D for the other 2 losses.
 
i think he threw the 2 if the 3 in the first half. he is a bad qb i blame him for both jets games i dont blame him for the pats game his is not a good qb.. he will not take the fins to the promise land
 
I understand Fiedler is not the best QB in the NFL but how can you just Label a "bad" qb.He is not in the bottom half in qbs ratings and right now he is above most qb's in the league...You can bash him all you want but get use to him because you will see him for the next 2 years ...fthefish11 compare Fiedler stats to those of Bledsoe...Don't bring the excuse that he was injured because he was only injured last season...
 
Actually, Fiedler was top 5 on 3rd down conversions. Top 5 in yards per attempt and #1 in the 4th quarter.

Btw, the first Jets game was not all Fiedler's fault. The D also gave up A LOT of points in the 2nd half. We were up 17-0 (Should have been 24-0 cause of Lamar) in the first half. Lamar had 2 fumbles that day, 1 on the goal line.

I was at the 49ers game. That was the run d's fault all the way. 2 of Fiedler's INTs were INTs that he was forcing cause we were down so much. 2 of the 3 were in the 2nd half.
 
Games you can blame Fiedler for

Titans - We won
Raiders - We won
Rams - 42 points against us, Defense's fault
Pats - We won
Jets - Lamar's fault (Jay's drive was nearly flawless until that last pass. Lamar had 2 costly fumbles)
Seattle - We won
Carolina - We won
Indy - We won
Jets - Lets see, McKnight bobble a REALLY good play by Victor Green, and the inablility to run AT ALL against the pathetic Jet run D...hmmm...Jay's fault? I think not.
Buffalo - We won
Denver - We won
Indy - We won
San Fran - Total team loss
New England - Fiedler played GREAT! Lamar Fumbles again at the goal line, we lost by 7...
Atlanta - We won
Buffalo - We won
Baltimore - Uh, I think Jay is the only one who showed up.
 
NONE of our losses were all because of Jay Fiedler. We win as a team, we lose as a team. We didn't have a running game, and Fiedler still threw for 3300 yards. He is above average, not great, but he is good.
 
I went to the Jets game, in the end zone towards the end someone bobbled it and it was intercepted. Also Lamar fumbled inside the 10. We should have won that game. :yell:
