Martin is done in the NFL IMHO.
Who would want this suicidal, backstabbing, lying, conniving, back up player on their team?
Seriously.

I'm not arguing with you, as I agree with your assessment. But the Phins may have no choice but to keep him.

And why would the Dolphins NOT "have a choice"?

If goodell and the league try to FORCE us to keep him the Dolphins should sue the NFL. And I would be out of here.

I could see the Fins doing what Cinci did with Carson Palmer. We know Martin wont want to come back to Miami out of sheer embarrassment, so we just hold on to his rights until someone offers a draft pick, or his contract expires. Miami could give a big **** you to the Martin camp if they wanted.

I think an outright release is going to look bad on our part, and teams likely wont trade for him, and I doubt he is welcomed back to our locker room. I think we may end up retaining his contract and calling his bluff.

As Tony Montana would say, no, F**K, no. Never, ever, even is he died and came back would i want this rat, snake piece of garbage anywhere near the Dolphins again. Cut him unless some deranged GM from another team wants to give us something for him but that aint happening. This guy tainted the reputation of our team. He didn't have to. He chose to, so I really don't have adequate words to express how much I detest the guy. I mean, I could give it a shot, traitor, ahole, lousy player, sniveling worm......he's just not worth anymore keystrokes. As you guys can see I'm on the fence but my vote is no!

We NEED to rid ourselves of this fiasco already. He is not good on the field, and obviously hes too soft to stand up for himself. No matter how you see it whether he is the victim or not, he is not worth the head ache, distraction, and negative media attention. He can take that caca to another team willing to deal with it, at least if he was a good player it may be worth it, but he sucks.

Jon Martin wont be back in a Dolphins uniform! As he would be crazy to return. His teammates may not want him back! And I am surd mommy and daddy will want whats in Jons best interests. And thats not in a place where he turned his back on his teammates. And let mommy and daddy get involved! No there will be a settlement and he will be released. So some other unsuspecting team can roll the dice on him!

FWIW, ON THE FIELD, he was better than Mckinnie, who many want to bring back. True story.

Wow what a rediculous comment....McKinnie wasn't good but Martin was horrible.

If he comes back to the phins I hope he suffers a career ender in camp. Don't want his garbage on the field in games "protecting" tannehill.

I hate Martin more than I hate any rival player from the Jets, Bills or Pats.

Yeah, that was my main point. IF the players agree to have him back, who are we to disagree?

Players don't want him back...I think Tannehill, hartline, and the rest made that clear in their anger and statements made during the fiasco.

The only group that likes a whining coward is the media because they profit from the story. players across the league will turn their backs on him. I can definitely see him getting High-lowed during practice

if you read the legal opinions of this issue that is posted in several of the other threads, one interpretation of this is that releasing him would be viewed as retaliation for his going public with his concerns. You don't typically release 2nd round draft picks who have been two year starters....so if they do release it, it is due to the harassment issue...not his play on the field.

I don't necessarily agree with that opinion, but that is what is out there,

If dolphins were to release him even then it would be hard to prove that it was out of retaliation. Players get released all the time for various reasons. It would be hard to prove it was retaliation on tems part as they could always say he wasnt right fit for team his play.was bad.If he is cut I doubt that therr is any lawsuit over it since he doesnt want to return anyways. It would be better anyways for everyone if he was cut! I am sure there will be a setlement and he will be let go.

Tell you what, if goodell wants to go down the slippery slope of having a lawsuit against every team over every player they cut for any reason...

he really is a berserk power-mad PC fanatic and the people pulling HIS strings must be formidable, indeed.

This is a bridge he does NOT want to cross. Teams had BETTER be able to reserve the right to cut a player for any reason they deem necessary.

aaron hernandez was an All-Pro and he got cut over unresolved legal issues. WANT HIM REINSTATED, goodell? THAT is where you going to be driven if you try to strong-arm franchises over unwanted players.

Of course maybe he doesn't mind letting letting belicheat do it while others can't, in which case this league is in more trouble than we ever could have imagined.

Retaliation? if they wanted retaliation, they wouldn't have paid him his full salary for last season. 2nd round draft pick, who was also "demoted" to RT, after sucking at LT. His play sucked, and he's also detrimental to the locker room/players/team image.
