your giving him credit for doing his job in the offseason? and then you are trying to debate wether or not he quit on his team? regardless of the circumstances surrounding his departure, the one fact i didn't think could be argued was the fact that he left this team, which in my book constitutes "quitting".

I give him credit for going above and beyond what most do in the off season, and there is no debate on his quitting on the team. You must have misread my posts/
 
I would have to say yes, but only if he is bitten by a radioactive snake and he became super human and the best offensive lineman in the NFL. Otherwise, Hell no.
 
I have this eerie suspicion that Ross is somehow going to decide to bring back Martin. Just seems like it's something he'd do.

However, there is a very real chance that he will be given an opportunity as an example of how the team has been prepared to address the bullying culture, chop some of the players, fire the coach and the head trainer (and the GM and OC). It might be that Philbin and Lazor don't want him around but by keeping him on the team, maybe they can negotiate a minor trade.
Ross is a lawyer before he became a billionaire property developer. Finheaven members will freak out, but Ross will be thinking appearance and risk mitigation. The perception of fairness in the eyes of the Commissioner is a big deal. I can see strong enforcement of sobriety and drug free stipulation and mental health assessment. (Any one of these work in Miami's favor if they really want him out). He will need to be in good physical condition (otherwise that is another possible exit). Maybe they want to force it so that Martin wants to be on another team and Hickey can negotiate something for him.
For most Finheaven members who seem to side with Incognito and his buddies, get set to be shocked. There is a real chance that Martin is not immediately chopped.

Be prepared for another losing season a players stay away from this team. It needs to start doing things properly.

You very well could be right. It will just show though that Ross is not particularly interested in winning football games.

And i don't want to sound like those guys that says I'll never watch the team again because of a loss to Jacksonville or whatever, but I will definitely start to care less and less about the team, since bringing Martin back will be a clear sign that Ross cares less about the fans, and more about his image in the eyes of talking heads. For the circus that is a Woody Johnson team, at least he really believes it's ultimately about winning football games. Let's hope we can at least say that about Ross.

If I were a player I'd be both afraid of Martin going postal and apprehensive that whatever happens in Davie doesn't stay in Davie. I think we need to Deep6 him one way or another as a potential detriment to signing free agents who aren't Mormons, born agains or Quakers.

I have been accused many times of being a Martin sympathizer (because I've always said he's troubled, not malicious) - but I can't believe this would be the best scenario for Martin or the team (at least from a "product on the field" point of view). It may be good PR for the NFL and the Dolphins organization for a little while, but overall it's way too risky for my tastes, especially the exit strategy. If Martin sucks (and there's two season's worth of evidence to believe he will), then what? It's best to negotiate a mutual parting of the ways now, while there's plenty of good rationale for it...
 
No to the no. Martin should have never been in the nfl to begin with. He's not a good player period!!!! I said this before the season started and everyone thought I was negative. In the famous awkward words of Terrell Owens if it walks like a duck it is a duck. If he's a bad player , he will always be a bad player.
