WR Jarvis Landry may have been drafted as WR Brian Hartline's eventual replacement

That is too funny. You think Hartine deserved the money Wallace got? Hartline probably didn't even deserve what Miami re-signed him for. I consider myself a fan of Hartline's and I still want him on the team, but the Dolphins can certainly upgrade from what he offers.

Never said he deserved Wallace money... I meant that he deserves the money he got. Most people don't think he did, I highly disagree...

But why would you want to upgrade 1,000 yards a season? He's as solid as they come.. He makes the catches, gets the 1st downs, has great hands. I don't get the hate. We DO NOT NEED Andre Johnson to win a game..

If anything Hartline is a lock to stay with the team and it's Wallace that is the odd man out. Gibson doesn't make enough to even be on the cutting/trading block.

We need more touchdowns...less drops at key moments.

Hartline needs to make more big plays...score more touchdowns...or he will find himself down the depth chart...where he probably should be.

What a doosh this guy is.
### Show professionalism when criticizing players.

WQAM-560’s Brandon Guzio was a bit too personal and confrontational in recent Twitter criticism of Dolphins receiver Brian Hartline.

It’s fine for Guzio to say the Dolphins should cut Hartline based on cap savings and that Brandon Gibson is “the better player,” though I don’t agree with Guzio on either opinion.

But Guzio crossed the line by tweeting: “Hopefully, Fins cut Hartline after this [Jarvis Landry] pick. Get that fool off my team.” And “take a walk, Hart.”

Guzio then added: “Catches balls with his chest, zero yards after catch, no separation, only reason he gets # is because him and his wife hang out with Tannehills.”

(By the way, Hartline's 4.4 yards after catch average ranked 77th of 111 qualifying receivers last season, according to ProFootballFocus.com.)

Hartline, trying to become the first Dolphins receiver with three consecutive 1000-yard seasons, responded on Twitter with this, among other comments: “I embrace criticism but your lack of knowledge is astonishing.”

Guzio shot back: “Lack of knowledge!? I think Dolphins fans who are realistic think my evaluation of your game is spot on.”

WQAM program director Andy King said he does not believe Guzio's tweets were inappropriate and noted Guzio did not include Hartline’s Twitter handle in his tweets, which King believes makes a difference. (I don't believe it makes any difference. Calling someone a "fool" is insulting regardless.)

2015 I think we'll be looking at a core of:
WR: Wallace, Matthews
WR: Hartline
Slot: Landry

Hartline is too damn consistent and dependable to get rid of, especially with the fantastic chemistry Tanny has with him. People are crazy, just because he isn't flashy. 2 years from now sure, but not next season and definitely not this season. Landry can do great work in the slot and fight for extra years, Wallace can beat guys over the top and Hartline can move the chains. I think that's a fantastic top 3 receivers, especially two years from now.

I love Brian Hartline's heart and attitude and there is always a place on any team for a guy like him, but a lot of what LDaniel7 said in his post is true. The Dolphins should always be looking to upgrade their talent, and I think the offense would benefit greatly by upgrading from what Hartline offers. Especially when you factor in what Hartline gets paid.
That's exactly how I feel.

What's funny on this board is that a player is either great or he should be cut. Why not try to keep Hartline around as a third or fourth option. Is he making too much money to be a 3rd or 4th receiver? Of course! But when he signed we and him already knew he wouldn't play through the entire contract. If Landry or any other WR outperforms him, why not restructure and keep him?

Both GB and Philly use a lot 4+ wr sets. They all have a place here. If we don't do well this year everybodies roster spot could be in trouble.

I hope so! I hope Landry becomes the best WR of all time. Not attached to "NAMES" at all if someone's better play him. If QB X strolled in tomorrow and the coaches thought he was better than Tanny I'd be fine with that while lots of guys here would be pissed. Don't get it!

Radical idea here, but what if they drafted Landry just because they thought he was the best player still on their draft board?? Why is it we have to get rid of a good player when we draft another player that we think MIGHT be good. Couldn't we keep more than one good WR?? Last year we got a couple injuries and had no one after Mathews to come in. Might be nice to have talent on the bench, strange but true. :idk:

Hickey overkills WR almost as bad as Ireland overkilled the front 7.

We can't realistically and shouldn't get rid of either Hartline or Wally this year.

Gibson is not either expensive or bad enough to warrant being replaced specially not with Matthews already pushing him.

We brought Damian Williams and also had Binns coming back from injury.

That to me is a much better Top 6 than we have on OL, CB, LB, RB or TE.

That's 5 units we should have worked on BEFORE further log-jamming what is arguably our second best unit (after DL).

I honestly don't agree with what's being done on this off season. I would have rather gotten a RB at Landry's spot.

What's the issue? We normally keep at least 5 WRs on the roster plus a further 1 or 2 PS WRs. Last year was an exception with all the injuries we had (and the fact our late round and UDFA pickups weren't good enough).

So, Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Matthews and Landry is likely, Binns might be squeezed in assuming we cut Thigpen off the RB list (which I think is going to happen) or alternatively Thiggy makes it as a WR/KR/PR. That leaves room for one or two on the PS - Hazel plus a UDFA.

I don't see where the big logjam is. We don't score enough points as an offense and - like it or not, depending on your view of him - Tannehill isn't going anywhere. So if you want to overhaul your offense, doesn't it make sense to add WRs and TEs?

On the topic of offensive roster, I believe we'll cut Thomas and put Gillislee on PS (if he's still eligible, otherwise cut him). We'll keep Moreno, Miller and Williams as RBs, cutting Thigpen as per above. That presumes Williams doesn't do anything stupid.

At TE, we'll cut Miller and keep 4. Too early to say which 4, but I'd guess Clay, Sims, Lynch and one of Egnew/Hoskins/Keller/waiver/ other FA pickup.

In today's NFL , you need 3 decent WR's. Landry was drafted to supplement our WR corps, not replace them.

please get rid of that ugly ass 14 and give the man 80 back...he will earn it...whoever beats this kid out in camp is gonna earn it i can tell ya that...this kids exactly what this team needs...a i'm the man attitude great character great work ethic and competes on every snap like it's his last

well done miami...now tannehill has to learn that even when he's covered he's open...put it in the zip code and he will go get it
