Yahoo says Harbaugh to Fins/Michigan because players are disgruntled

Marino calls his, "A loser's ring".

It's a ring. PFC said Harbaugh didn't have a ring. Was PFC right or wrong?
And would you have been disappointed if Miami came away with only an AFC Championship ring last year or the year before or the year before that? Or would you be happy that we were a relevant franchise again?

Regardless of his coaching skills, volatility, foibles, mental instability or whatever turns out to be the case, as they say "No good deed goes unpunished." Love that due to injuries after possibly doing Stanford and/or mommy a solid, he's been forced to crap the bed by playing as almost a last resort, the pansy whose verbal bullying (i.e. what he allegedly received, not dispensed in kind) would have been the envy of most 18 year olds pledging fraternities (or from what I've been reading about the new Miss America, also some sororities too).

If Philbin doesn't make 9 wins, he needs to go. I'd give Harbaugh a shot, tho I've wanted Cowher for years.

Honestly, doesn't really matter unless you're hoisting the Lombardi.

You might as well be siding with NYjunc and his sanchez/jet argument with this approach as far as I am concerned. No one hails Peyton Manning for his playoff success; all you hear is that he only has one SB ring. Doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things that the Patriots have had so much success in the playoffs and reaching multiple AFC championships and SB appearances; all that's talked about is they haven't won a SB since the Spygate '04-'05 season. I've also seen plenty of Dolphin playoff games, two AFC Championships and a Super Bowl through out my fan hood, but... no Lombardi trophy. Super Bowl Championship is the only thing that counts.

Meaning what? You want to hire Billick?

So you don't want to consider anyone for the HC spot that doesn't have a Super Bowl ring? I want someone that can get us in the mix. If we fall short some years, we fall short, but we don't have a shot if we're not in the mix and right now, we're not. We're a mediocre team heading towards another 8-8 season.

I'd be a much happier fan to have had the Pats' record for the last 10 years than ours.

I've seen all of that plus some since I've been a fan since about '68 or '69. That aside, I'm not sure what your point is with this statement. Who is out there that can guarantee a SB win?

Great coaches are remembered for winning championship rings and not for being sucessful with consolation prizes (i.e. conference rings). Until he wins the big one he can not be considered in that category of coaches, nor will he ever be known as one.

So you want what? Philbin or who?

Whats wrong with Philbin's ring:

As far as this debate if I'm Ross the toughest decision I might ever have to make is if we win a playoff game or something and Harbaugh is available. That would be the sickest decision ever, especially if you have to fork over a high draft pick. But not even really going to think about it until we see a few more games at least.

And I'll bet 5000 vCash right now that Harbaugh isn't going anywhere. I refuse to believe that organization can be that stupid.

Saints won the SB with Payton. On offensive minded coach that won with excellent offense and the help of a defense that was able to create a great amount of turnovers through out their playoff run.

Seahawks won the SB with Carroll. A defensive minded coach that won with a defense whose accomplishments hadn't been seen since the '85 Bears and a ball control offense.

49ers have Harbaugh. A former QB and offensive minded coach who's only success has been found through a defense (who's core was set before he got there along with the benefit of high draft picks the season he entered) and a stout running game through Frank Gore, who was also in San Fran before JM. Harbaugh made a horrible choice in sticking with Kaepernick over Alex Smith in which the area of QB is supposedly Harbaugh's 'bread n butter' so to speak and has done nothing in his field of expertise to raise the level of play that he "excels" in.

That doesn't alarm anyone here?

Now let's take a look at the locker room situation rumors that some are passing off as no big deal. Sorry, but... ARE ****ING KIDDING ME?! Didn't not anyone whom is trying to look over those things forget WTF we went through last year with locker room turmoil. And you want to top of the insanity of that, the same guy your clamoring for went out and signed the same POS snake that started all the problems with our team in the first place. Talk about irony.

I'm not over here trying to collect fund money for a statue for Philbin to built in front of Joe Robbie, but the clown that you seek out in San Fransisco is, with out a doubt in my mind, not the answer for the Miami Dolphins.

No, that is kind of a normal phenomenon with a lot of successful coaches. Belichick has a great offense. Billick had a great defense. There are countless other examples of this phenomenon occurring, and it even makes sense as to why it occurs if you think about it. Even Shula was a defensive minded coach with an offensive team.

Alright, but at least Shula knew a good QB when he saw one. And there's always an exception.

"Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck", the Don.

How could the 49ers and their fans forget that just 4 years ago they were the west coasts equivalent of the Miami Dolphins? I just can't believe they would risk going back to that.

We were talking about rings won as a head coach ...or at least I was. If just having a ring is the criteria, then there are some trainers who qualify as head coaches.
