You guys picked up a great RB, but your OL is still not that good.

This coming from a team with Vinny and Chad as their QB's. Of course you shouldn't be worried about Jay.....you have to worry about Vinny and Chad
was has Jay done in this league? ENUFF SAID..

I wanted no part of McKenzie coming out of college because I didn't rate him very highly at all, so until he proves me wrong, I think he will be a turn-still at LT. I was happy that NYJ drafted him because i don't think he will be very good, much like i was happy this season when Oakland picked Langston Walker so high, i also think Walker will be a huge bust!

Just my opinion.

A lot more than Chad Pennigton has done and will do in his first year as a starter.

The Fins may beat us once this year, because you guys are do to beat us.
Even if you guys do beat us once this season he still will only be one win out of the last ten. So to make it reapectable you guys would have to win at least the next 3 or 4.

Exactly what is the Jets playoff appearance record?

Or hell what is their playoff record period?

Before you talk respectability look at the Jets respectability.

I hate the fact that we lose to the Jets twice a year but it isn't like their winning the division every year or even making or beating us in the playoffs.

Not like 82 when the Fins beat the Jets 3 times in one year.

Is going to the HOF when? never

 please!!!!

:monkey: your QB Comparison

Jets-boy, you're pretty much out of luck here. While you started this thread by stating the obvious- that the 'Fins are drastically improved at HB this year- you've been unable to provide anything that says that the Jests have improved signifigantly anywhere.

Vinny's had one good year, has done nothing since, and the only reason he's still your starter is because the guy sitting behind him on the bench- Pennington- is likely never going to develop into a viable starting QB in the NFL. Cowhert was an improvement, but he was also a risk considering he was injured for most of last year and will probably not be the same kind of player he used to be. You guys essentially lost your entire defense backfield and have signed only Abraham- a slightly above average player- to replace Glenn and Coleman.

Other than Curtis Martin you have zero threats of offense and defensively you have J. Abraham and Cowhert and the rest are pretty much middle of the pack guys. To top it all off you're only $801k under the cap, meaning you have zero room to sign anyone, including draft picks so that means June 1st the Jests will have to cut cap and that usually means cutting quality.

In conclusion, there is nothing even remotely scary about the Jests this year. If it weren't for the fact that, somehow, the Jests have beaten 8 times in a row in spite of the fact that we've been a better team for at least the past two seasons, I wouldn't even have the slightest concern. To be totally honest, the Bills look a lot scarier this year than you guys.

I predict the Jests will be the odd-man-out bottom feeders in the AFC East this year.

:eat:

Listen up folks.

Yes, we had our O line beat up really bad last year. But that's part of it. Using injuries as an excuse wont work as every team has them and has to deal with them. Its part of the game for every team. Right?

But I don't see the draft helping out either team much this year in the first half. Maybe the second. But again, who knows who'll get hurt. Maybe Vinny will pull his other heal tendon and be out for another year. Who knows.

But I do see the Dolphins improving their O line as long as they stay healthier then they did last year. So no, I'm not worried at all.......at this moment.

That why I said at "LEAST" 2 years. NOBODY comes back 100 % from a torn ACL in 1 year. If you don't believe me then name me one NFL player who did?

Here's TWO PLAYERS.

Our very own JAMES MCKNIGHT. In 1999, McKnight tore his ACL in training camp. In 2000, James started 15 of 16 games and averaged 17.8 ypc (4th in NFL) on 52 catches. McKnight turned in the best year of his career as the Cowboys only receiving threat on a Cowboy team that was struggling at QB.

Not only did McKnight recover, but Dave Campo said that McKnight didn't lose ONE STEP. Not one bit of his speed or agility. He came back running 4.3's and stayed healthy for 16 games ON TURF.

And here's the coup de gras.........from ESPN.com

JERRY RICE

1997
Blew out his left knee (tore ACL and MCL) in the season-opening loss at Tampa Bay and missed the next 13 games with the injury, ending his streak of consecutive games played at 189. Before the injury, Rice had not missed a game in his 13-year NFL career and had made 176 consecutive starts. ... Made one of the most remarkable recoveries in sports history to return for the Dec. 15 game against the Denver Broncos. He caught his only TD pass of the season on a 14-yard scoring play in the second quarter, but re-injured his knee on the play. After breaking a bone in his kneecap, Rice was placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.

While it's exremely rare, some players can come back in 1 year.

LOL yup!

"Barry Sanders never had an O-Line"

... and before Emmit Smith came to Dallas the Cowboy's O-Line sucked as well. I'm a HUGE believer that the HB makes the O-Line. The exception like the Broncos O-Line of a few years ago is RARE without a doubt.

Ricky does scare me a little, but as long as Jay is your QB I'm not worried. Plus even you have to admit that our D haves inproved a lot from last season.

So tell us, are you one of them Jets fans that think Testicleverdi can still take the Jets to the promice land? Give me Jay Fiedler any day over Testi, or Pennington........

And please fill us in on how your defense improved???

That defense has so many NEW FACES! So do you think they will be on on cylinders come week one, two, or THREE?

Enuff said (I think that's new york for 'enough')? You didn't say squat. So if your trying to make a point you made it pretty sadly because you didn't have "enuff said"

He thinks that his Jets are going to be this years' version of the Rams.......You know....get rid of half the D, sign all new players, and then lead the league in defense.
It happens all the time......I don't know why every team in the league doesn't do the same thing.

your right...

and that's the $64,000 question.

Here's one for you, how does it feel letting almost your entire starting DB's go? Trust me, DAbraham is VERY OVERRATED, he's decent, not as good as your led to believe.

He was replaced in the starting lineup in Tampa by BEN KELLY! That should be embarrasing for any starting CB in the NFL to be replaced by Ben Kelly during the season. Donnie Abraham isn't very good at all, he would be the 4th CB on this team (Fletcher will have a better season)
