Zona Looking At Matt Moore?

In this league you have to replace talent with talent. You don't trade Moore for a low pick in case we get a chance to compete for a playoff spot. What if RT gets hurt and has to miss a game, without Moore you are giving the game a way. Trading Moore for a low pick sends the message to your team that we are rebuilding this year and not trying to make a run.

I believe we once traded a 2nd rd pick for AJ Feeley, who had never done anything close to what Moore has done. Moore is the perfect backup, no way I would give him up for less than a 3rd and a player. Moore is a great influence on RT and is well respected within the locker room. He is a Philbin type of player and you can rest assured he isn't going ANY where this season. Not unless they make an offer you can't refuse.

While I'd agree that keeping Moore gives the team a safety net. If we can get a good value deal from them, then I'd be happy to see us trade Moore for a 3rd or 4th round type pick. He's walking at the end of the season anyway, so might as well get something for him; and besides, we've got Devlin, and if we really need an experienced QB to back him up, there are a number of free agents who could come in on cheaper deals to do that.

Trading your BACKUP QB tells the rest of the team that you're in a rebuilding year? Are you even reading what you're saying?

Trading your backup QB who will be a free agent at the end of the year for a 4th round pick tells the rest of the league that the Cardinals just got prison raped in a midseason trade.

LOL at Ktownfinfan giving "no thanks" to everyone who thinks Moore for a 5th is a good trade.

He is gone at the end of the season anyway. If someone offers us anything at this point I'd take it.

Skelton has looked terrible today, multiple INT, a fumble, pick 6, Kolb out at least a few weeks, talks could and should get serious...

i think we should make a deal for him to go to KC for a package deal for bowe

You had a somewhat reasonable argument until here. If I'm reading this correctly (and I am because it's how it is written), you are saying that the AJ Feeley trade set some kind of precedent. It didn't. We got absolutely hosed in that trade. Literally one of the worst trades in Dolphins history. Feeley was worth a 7th at best. Moore, being a better QB, is therefore worth about a 4th MAX (5th being more realistic), which we would be insanely lucky to get midseason at the end of his contract.

Less than a third and player? Fantasy land. Don't get me wrong, I would take that in a heartbeat, but it ain't happenin'. A 4th round pick (or 5th or 6th) are more valuable to a team long run than a good backup QB for half a season. It's not even close.

I'd try to package Moore with one of our 3rds for a quality WR or CB. That appears to be our two positions of greatest need.

No less than a 4th if we just trade him straight up.

it's nice to have an experienced backup so another option would be to resign him at a backups salary. Ryan could get banged up and i doubt Devlin is ready to start any time soon.

If we do trade him, I'd rather it be for depth than a draft pick... I havent looked through Arizona's roster but Im pretty sure we could get a decent backup at either CB, WR, T or safety. Maybe even somewhat of a pass rush specialist who's not a complete player yet...

Zona's backup tackles? Good lord, I wouldn't give their starters a job as our backups

not sure if he would b an upgrad for arizona.
what does he know about there system and he has not played since the pre season
i would love a 4th but i cant see that

If we're playing to win this year (playoffs) you keep him. If not, get what you can get.
