"Several key Jets players and members of the organization" expressed concern to the New York Daily News about Mark Sanchez's ability to succeed at quarterback.
Some want the Jets to pursue Peyton Manning as Sanchez's replacement. "Come on. That's a no-brainer," a Jets source said. "If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don't do it, then you're stupid." Even if Manning isn't available, Jets players want to see Sanchez pushed hard by another veteran QB. Teammates question his ability to lead the team, his practice habits, Sanchez's role in two consecutive AFC Championship Games, and coddling by the front office. "He thinks he is [improving], but he's not," said one player. "He has shown us what he's capable of."

rumors rumors. a lot of teams have been linked to peyton yet colts have said he is not going anywhere. if he is available , we must outbid the jets at all costs.

why would peyton honestly even consider the Jets? A team with no offensive line, no chemistry, a number 1 WR who the whole team wants gone, a weak run game, and not to mention the cold weather won't help a guy coming off an injury. All this Jets-Peyton talk is laughable because cap wise they probably can't even afford him.

So what you're saying is that the Jets players aren't complete idiots?

here is the original article from the daily news

“We have to bring in another quarterback that will make him work at practice,” said one player. “He’s lazy and content because he knows he’s not going to be benched.”

On Dec. 28, Sanchez said that he was “light years ahead” in areas such as defensive recognition, clock management and understanding of the offensive system. Six days later, general manager Mike Tannenbaum said that Sanchez’s “rate of growth isn’t where it needs to be.”

also,NY Jets will not welcome back offensive line coach Bill Callahan, receivers coach Henry Ellard and defensive line coach Jeff Weeks, the castle continues to crumble

The jets players know The Dirty first hand. They see the talent, but know he is not a starter.

Between the embarrassing boasts about owning NY, guido coaches lined up to trip a kick returner, sexual harrassment of reporters, revelations of bi-curiosity and foot fetishist based voyeurism pimping one's wife, effyous and fingers to fans, unmanly blubberous blubbering in pressers, and yet another year of over promises and under delivery, and now numerous corroborated confirmations that the team could carry their underqualified, lazy, entitled QB only so far and now they're sick of it

.. do you think Woody and The Bean Counter brought Tony in with an eye towards him being Fatso's replacement if there's another year of them being the laughing stock? It would actually be funny if they sign Henne who shouldn't have that much trouble beating Sanchez out and within 2 years having to face Meatball and Chad twice a year?

anonymous players- could these be some of the players that stunk this year and are looking to pass the blame?

This nydn.us/xnShGZ by @TheJetsStream is false. If "unnamed sources" want to attack Mark, man up and put your name to it #JETS

My worst fear would be Peyton going to the Jets. I'm not worried at all about them if they stay with Sanchez but with Manning, they could do some serious damage.

2 title games isn't serious damage?

I have been hearing speculation that Henne will go to the Jets with Sparano. Sanchez may not even be their starter. On top of that Todd Haley is being interviewed as the passing game coordinator. Guess they don't trust the new OC to handle that part of the offense.

Just as quickly as they became media dolls they are now a laughingstock. The NY media will crucify them this off season.
