Merged: The Dolphins Attended Players Workouts Thread

Rice's James Casey has Private workout with Dolphins, WOOOHHOOOO!

Casey, who ran a 4.79 in the 40-yard dash at Rice after running a 4.74 at the combine, has had an individual workout with the Dolphins. Miami tight ends coach George DeLeone put Casey through blocking drills.

The interested thing about Casey is some teams think the guy can play QB and even play as a Wildcat specialist. He lined up at RB,TE,WR and QB at Rice the guy is a jack of all trades and the real deal. He is truly an Amazing athlete and someone I think Miami will seriously consider. I suggest you guys read the small article which is awesome. Kid is projected as second round pick and we know Miami is interested in aquiring a TE. They have had visits with Cornelius Ingram, Jared Cook, James Casey and Dan Gronkowski. While many are thinking Pat White, Casey is a very interesting prospect.

The kid could immediately replace Haynos, Become an emergency backup QB on gamedays and contribute in the Wildcat. This guy has become my favorite prospect this year and a most for my Phins. Hope we have a chance of selecting him.

Miami seems very interested in adding a lineman and Sparano was quoted as saying they were not complete yet at the Oline position, so I think Miami adds another Lineman this year.

ebon britton? what are we going to spend a first round pick on a backup T?

If they wanna move him or Carey to gaurd that'd be dumb..
Lets just draft Duke Robinson in second if you want a guard..

i dont understand this.. tackle is a first round need?

if we didn't sign Carey, Britton would be excellent for the RT spot with the 25 spot.

But in an even better situation, we have Carey locked up for 6 years. I'm fine if they want to spend the 2b on the best tackle prospect, to backup LT or RT if a starter goes down...
I'd prefer to draft depth later like in rounds 4-7, but whatever the trifecta wants is what i want.. just not britton in 1st round.

well they definitely need another OT for depth purposes. Britton seems to be strictly a OT, but we aren't drafting an OT this early when we have the highest paid LT and RT in the league on this team already. Unless they want to start him at Guard, which I just don't see happening.

If they'd have let Carey leave, I could have seen them possibly getting Britton..but I think they get a guy later down the road in the draft.

Carey at Guard would be beastly tho, especially if Britton comes in and excels. He seems to be a better tackle fit than Mount Vernon.

LT - Long
LG - Smiley
C - Groves
RG - Carey
RT - Britton

Britton is a way to early draft pick, but Miami has shown interest in huge guys and that is my point.

Guys I have a posy of a guy who has not been named much, but is a good a player as any in this draft and you will be surprise how fast he will make us forget about White. Take a look at my thread of James Casey TE Rice and you will all be wanting Miami to pick this guy. Parcells said Miami would be adding Fire Power and this guy is all Fire Power. The Thread has a video, and you will all be loving James Casey by the end of the thread.

cool, this guys really is a baller. him and Cook really helped their stock at the combine...

I wouldn't mind consistancy opposite of Fasano. I'd prefer a blocking TE over a flashy receiver type. Martin is a great receiver but poor blocker. Fasano is above average at both. Haynos is a very poor blocker, and good receiver. If we roll with Fasano/Casey-Cook-Nelson/Martin that'd be a solid TE unit.
I dont dislike Haynos, just wish we had a better blocker in that unit. Pettigrew would be a cool pick, he'd really help in run game. However TE is not a 1st round need.
Look towards round 4-5 where nelson/ingram/coffman might be available.
If the bpa is a TE with 2b or 3, I'm okay with them taking one.

This kid is amazing, I think he defitnetly replaces Haynos and could challenge Martin. I totally agree with how poor a blocker Haynos is. What I like about this guy is that you get your Wildcat Specialist, TE, and Third String QB all in one. He even lines up at RB and could possibly even fill in for Polite in some downs especially on those 3 and 1. The kid even returned Punts on PR. Rea interesting Prospect by far.

Carey wouldn't play RG.
He's playing RT, that's why he's the highest paid RT in the league.
Even if he did play guard, he'd play LG next to Jake. Carey would be paid like a LG, and he'd probably even be better than Smiley at LG.

Not gonna happen. No way we draft Britton.

I'm sure this is for looksee's, Britton COULD fall to our 2a pick. If he's there, should'nt we add that 1st round Talent to our roster, even in a backup role? I'd be okay with that, his contract wouldn't be that much to have an excellent backup Tackle

No way he's a phin, WAS, SD, CHI, TB, PHI, DET, SF, BUF, NE, PIT all could use him before our 2a pick.

yeah I'm pretty sold on him too.
Depending on what positions we solved with our first two picks, TE could be a need. I beleive that OLB, WR, CB, OL, DL will be taken before TE.
Very interesting prospect, and would be very interested in seeing what kind of position flexibility he offers at the NFL level. If he's a wildcat specialist, maybe you dont need the ronnie brown to fasano TD play.. Casey could hike it, and throw it to himself for a diving grab in the endzone.

anyone think this could be a smokescreen?

Yep very well could be. Nicks has been projected to be a player the Dolphins could take. Parcells might as well try to sell this to other teams too IF he is not really interested. Perhaps he can scare a team into trading up for the Fins spot? Him coming to see Nicks workout doesn't mean jack to me.

Lol, He had 13 recieving TDs in 2008. He also threw for 2 TDs and ran in for 6 Tds. In game he caught two scores threw for a TD and ran for a TD. That guy had a total of 21 Tds last year and he is going by practically unnoticed. The guy could be a steal.

As for Miami drafting a TE they have looked Cornelius Ingram and Jared Cook both who are suppose to go early is a pressing need, no way. I do think Miami knows both Fasano and Martin will become Free Agents next year and they could be looking for a replacement.

I wouldn't be upset if we got him in the 3rd or 4th. Obviously we have bigger needs, but I agree that he could add something special to our offense.
