Odrick OUT for 6 weeks with broken fibula!?!?!?...Proven false..

Keep in mind, while I'm still angry it didn't happen, I think Brees actually having a choice on where to sign may have been just a little factor. While most of us were angry that the Dolphins "chose" Culpepper at the time, all evidence since has suggested that Brees to New Orleans was something he chose. The Culpepper thing was obviously talked about with Minnesota during the process, but the deal was made in reaction to Brees going another direction.

Perhaps a more valid complaint was that the Dolphins staff passed Culpepper.

You can thank Saban for the pass on Brees,,,but I digress, Odrick out is a blow, but as stated by many (and assuming this is true) we have other weapons to fill his spot in the time he will be gone......PHINS4LIFE

this ****in sucks if true. i was so excited to see odrick now this. we cant afford this for the stretch run. these 8 games can make or break our season. they better bring in grant or douglas.

Broken fibula??? Wasn't this what put Ronnie Brown and Donald Thomas on IR for the rest of the season? If so, it isn't no 6 weeks...Odrick is done for the season...!!!

According to Brees, Saban flat out told him the medical staff said he was damaged goods.

The Odrick injury? Blows. A lot. So does our medical staff. Some of you tried to make the case depth isn't important and those of us who were upset about our thin lines were overreacting. That was dumb.

i may get bashed for saying this, but this is a time where it would have been nice to have jt on the fins with an injury like this.

No, they had Lisfranc injuries (mid foot). Odrick's fracture might just be a small one or hairline fracture if it went unnoticed at first. I'm guessing they might have missed it on an xray but seen it on a CT scan. It'll heal in a few weeks. Really no big deal except he needs to wait till it heals. Hell, look at Leon Washington doing pretty well right now and he had a compound spiral fracture of his fibula last year.

I fractured my ankle near my fibula and I was in a cast for almost 5 weeks.
I ripped tendons and tore muscle though, Odrick just had a twinkle.

Huge loss, he looked great against Buffalo.

Brown and Thomas broke the top of their foot. This is not the same injury. Robert Gallery broke his fibula last year in September and missed six games.

Ronnie's injury was a fractured foot, the fibula is one of two bones in your "shin" area. Of the two bones its the smaller one, the tibia being the other, bigger bone.

It may have been a negotiating ploy to try and get him to sign for substantially less money. And at the time, Brees was obviously damaged goods, as he couldn't have recovered from his injury at that point. The staff just didn't count on New Orleans being so appealing for Brees, or Brees reacting so negatively to their approach (which has been common for FA's in Miami with multiple regimes).
