Steelers Lose!!

Even with both those things, we'd still need add'l help

two most important things outside of Miami winning out:

NE loss to an AFC team
BAL loss

With NE playing Carolina (NFC) and Baltimore playing Detroit (2-10)....neither of those things are likely to happen this week.

It's possible a NE loss to Carolina and our win out gives us the division. That last tie breaker falls to strength of victory. Carolina's record would help us in that regard. With a win over NE, our SOV moves higher than NE's. Atlanta needs to lose though...

We could be sitting pretty after this weekend.

Of course the Pittsburg debacle won't help us much because they would count towards our strength of victory.

Correction: It's not strength of victory. It's winning percentage of games won.

correction: It's strength of defeated opponents...

strength of victory, winning percentage of games won, strength of defeated opponents. that's all the same. you left out cumulative record of beaten opponents

Wouldn't surprise me if the Patriots lost to the Bills. That game will be like the Bills' Superbowl.quote]

well, we all know how well the Bills have fared in Superbowls :rolleyes2:

Is that how strength of victory works? So if teams the Baltimore and NE played started losing does that help Miami's SOV? Don't you want the teams u lost too to have better records in that instance?

This loss didnt matter much for us. We still have to play them. We still have to beat them. Even if they had won tonight, a victory over them would put us ahead of them. This mattered not.

Could possibly mean they are playing for nothing at the end of the year instead of a playoffs spot. If they are out of the playoffs troy wont be back.

Well since this will not be the "Real" Superbowl the Bills will actually win this one. It should be good enough that we can allow Kelly, Levy, Thomas , Smith and the rest of those guys to finally leave that room where they've been gorging on Snickers for the past 17 years.
