ok look Everyone I am actually getting tired of this topic.

I am the one who pushed the button to close that part of OUR site.
I am also the one who suggested we bring a new version of it back, HOWEVER, Posters like HurriPhin who keep making new thread on this subject is making me think, maybe we don't need it at all.

Damned lawyers! Now I gotta join a Law MB and smack lawyers around for ruining 'my brand of fun'.

I gotta comment that this country, as great as it is, has caused everyone to turn into a ***** regarding matters like this. I'm not pointing a finger in FH's direction, it's everywhere and it sucks. Why are medical costs so high? Lawyers and malpractice suits. Why is car insurance so high? Lawyers milking insurance companies for all they can. Why are the Depths gone? Lawyers and the threat they impose to FH. :(

I'm starting to sound like my senile uncle.

As I said on another message board somewhere:

Kill all the Lawyers

-Shakesphere & DolfanTom

in the case of the bills fans, id say more like releasing the mental patients back into society...

but Celtkin, cant there be a waiver form or some kind of release that people have to agree to before entering the room... then you have it as a private room like the VIP... one expressing clearly that Finheaven will not be held accountable for any material posted or read in the forum and the by entering the forum the user is agreeing to not file any suit against finheaven for anything posted by other uses of the forum, or something to that sort...

there has to be a lawyer who posts on here who would be able to have some input as to if that could work...

No, that won't work. We would still be liable.

i guess i dont know how waivers work then... i thought that was the point of them... like if you go skydiving you have to sign a waiver so if you die or are injured you cant sue and the company cant be held liable...

i thought that was the purpose of waivers, to defer liability away from the company

I'm glad this got unlocked so we can talk here. You are the evil one who released the dregs from our pit? :ninja: For shame, MW, for shame. We're all befuddled:confused:, flabbergasted:eek:, perhaps even miffed :fire:(not milfed) at your decision, and rightfully so. As I stated before, none of us (not even Finsrclowns) wants to hurt the site or cause any legal consternation for anyone. We do however want to be thrown back into the pit where we can endlessly go round and round about our perfect season, the Bills SB record, the Jets....anything, and Tom Brady's questionable sexuality. Hopefully those of us who are looking for answers can discuss them here and not spam the boards with 'where's the depths' threads.

actually look at porn sites, they have that consent page before you go in asking if your over 18 and all that other stuff...

but your saying then i can get someone under 18 to go in there, then sue them because it was objectionable material there?

i dont think thats the case, thats why you see internet waivers all over the porn sites...

not that i go to them or anything :hide:

Letting people post whatever they want to and use our site as a platform for libel would be negligent on our part and a waiver would not release us in that case, and why the heck can't you guys get it through your heads that WE WILL LOSE ADVERTISERS? Being sued is not the only risk here.

Where is our upside? What does Finheaven get from this arrangement other than risk?

im not trying to be a dick or anything just asking questions and trying to help, the depths as dumb as it is, is a room where a lot of people visit and a lot of people enjoy...

but if you made it a protected page, i dont see how you would lose advertisers, they would never even see that room if they had to go through a process like the VIP to get access... and the Depths has been around for ages, has it affected your advertisement money so far?

This kinda sucks. I enjoyed listening to the Bills,Pats, and Jets fans talk smack to us. It kind of made me feel special in a sense.

We need to do something about bringing some kind of board like the depths back. Maybe not call it the depths and have it so bad...But something like it

I love how effective they are. Are you 18? Click here. If not, click 'back'.

I've never been to them either.

I know you're not bro.

The Depths as we knew them are gone forever. Protected pages, etc won't protect us against suit and we our main sponsor get shown on ever page as does Google. Making the forum invisible would only make people ask for access, and the same risk would be there and, the Adsense bot can see into any forum that we have the code (and it sitewide)

There is no upside for FH to reinstate the depths in the form they were.

Look on the bright side guys. The amount of TROLLS in here is going to go down exponentially.

I for one have entered the Depths often and will truely miss them, but the trade-off mentioned above more than makes up for it...

If you realy wanna banter with the Trolls----go troll THEIR sites and make THEM liable...

i hear what your saying, and its unfortunate... how bout you put a link back to the depths of the sea, and it redirects to another site so you guys aren't liable... how bout 4caulksmens site, im sure anything we put in the depths is tame compared to what those guys got over there, haha...
