This is what Ireland did the last time he had the 12th pick

Ty Hilton was a third round draft pick which means he was passed by twice by each team, so everyone who needs a WR was a fool not to draft a guy with one good season? If that is the case than you are saying that the people on this board would be better NFL GM's than most everyone in the league.
Wait, are you saying you think T.Y. Hilton had only one good season in college or one good season in the NFL (that being his only season in the NFL)? Cause if you're referring to his college career he had more than one good season. Those of us that scout players as a hobby knew about this kid way before his senior season, especially those who live in Miami as he was the face of F.I.U. football.

### The Dolphins learned Sunday night they will pick 12th in April's draft. San Diego, Miami, Tampa, Carolina and New Orleans all finished 7-9. The draft order among those five teams was determined on strength of schedule. The Chargers pick 11th, followed by Miami, Tampa, Carolina and the Saints.
The last time Miami picked 12th (in 2010), the Dolphins traded the pick to San Diego for the 28th pick (Jared Odrick) and the 40th choice (Koa Misi). Miami passed on Dez Bryant and Jason Pierre Paul, among others, at 12, that year. The last two players selected 12th were defensive lineman Fletcher Cox by the Eagles (2011) and quarterback Christian Ponder by the Vikings (2010).

Instead of staying put and taking Pierre Paul he traded down and took Odrick. Instead of taking Gronk he took Misi. He passed on Bryant. He has no clue to evaluate impact talent. Good luck this offseason. Were all gonna sit back and hope he takes a big time WR, pass rusher, or CB witht the 12th pick but I can see it now. Ireland will either stay put and take and OL or trade back to accumilate more picks and draft more scrubs.

I had no issues with him not taking Gronk in the draft, honestly I thought Gronk would have fallen farther down the draft board. The guy had a long list of medical red flags and there were a lot of rumors saying he might not be able to play football for a while since he was coming off back surgery...he did miss the entire 2009 season in college from his back surgery. Pats took a chance, which they can afford to do, and it paid off.

Hindsight and all that. Sure, he could have taken Pierre Paul. He could also have taken Brandon Graham, and then how would you feel about things now? Or he could have traded down and taken Jerry Hughes and Sergio Kindle. Those were all sexy players back then and they were all available at the time we picked.

So c'mon, what's wrong with having a little balance in our opinions...

Pierre Paul wouldn'tve fit in our scheme. He's not a 3-4 DE or OLB, he's a prototypical 4-3 DE. As for Dez, we obviously had character concerns and that was the year we got B Marshall

two guys who contribute alot now. took a while...but, trade down get tyler eifert is in the cards. then extra pick for T. Cant lose. you can pass on a good player, but makes no diff if the player is not something we really need.

IMO, Kennan Allen is no better than Stedman Bailey and Bailey stock likely to rise after combine.

I would love nothing more than getting Big Tyler! Can't wait to see him Beast on Bama Monday

so who do you want? quit badmouthing others while not giving insight please!!! Pierre Paul's name not mentioned much this year. notice that?

and gronk had injury issues. well documented. but hindsight is great thing you know? plus he plays for the best QB and system in the league. Its not just about talent.
Fact is we needed a pass rusher and a seem threat at TE in 2010. Ireland did screw that up as it was right there for the taking... Bryant colds been had as well.... Odrick and Misi are serviceable players. RT would have benefited from Gronk, as well as Wake benefitting from JPP. I'm definitely holdin out hope for Ireland, but lets not pretend tha players such as Gronk are strictly system guys. Imagine if Bryant and Gronk were taken in that draft... You can't hit on all of them, that's for sure, but Ireland ****ed up on the 2010 draft, hopefully he doesn't this year
