USA Today 10 Shrewdest FA Signings: #2 Amendola

Most players get overpaid in free agency. Especially the first couple of days. Not just those that get signed by the Phins....smh

I'm just sick of our front office thinking they can throw money at players to fix the team. Over paying players is the way the locker room got screwed up imho.
Parker sees that Amendola makes twice what he does but has about the same production. How does that make any sense? While Amendola may have a great attitude how do you insure that other players don't resent the team for his retarded contract. How do you insure that players like Suh don't move in and say they need 5 lockers and treat everyone around him as something lesser, thus creating resentment all around?
Parker has to earn a frikin contract. If he doesn't like what Amendola signed for bust your butt to guarantee yourself a good contract one day.

Was it the dolphins that were shrewd or was it Dolas agent?

I'm sorry BUT $12 million 2yr (with incentives) and $8.25 mill gtd is REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE dick-u-luss for this:

The Patriots intentionally limited his snaps to try and prevent injury so they could ensure he was available for his high leverage plays
(third down, red zone), but if the Dolphins plan on using him on every down, he could have a short season.

Never said he was worth that but Parker certainly isn't at this point.

It's interesting at this point to note the Dolphins have not brought in a new Assistant WR coach to replace our last one, who was promoted to WR coach this year. Here is a thought. Amendola could be Gase's un-official new assistant WR coach. They have player coaches baseball, why not the NFL.

Gase could use Amendola as a clutch receiver and an un-official assistant WR coach. When Amendola retires, after having an indirect training period as an un-official WR coach, Gase can bring him back as an assistant wide receivers coach. This is dependent on whether or not Amendola is considering a coaching career after he retires. It makes a lot of sense!
