He got better in his jr and sr years because that's all he played at USC. He played a BC in his freshmen year and did well on the field, but had off field problems.. He went to Ventura Jr. college the next year and was all conference..they txrd to USC where under Pete Carroll's influence and defense he excelled. He plays the press coverage well, which means he fits into our system. I think he slipped in the draft because of his combine workouts when he was sick. He did better in his individual workout, but still did not burn the track up, although he reportedly did the 40 in 4.52 and 4.55. His speed is the concern. Pete Carroll said that he had no off-field problems at USC, like he did at BC. He must have grown up a little, I guess.
