Cutler agrees to sign for fins

Cutler isn't motivated to rejuvenate his career. He's motivated to play 4 months more and get 10-13 million.
Time will tell but this is an amazing opportunity for him to end his career as living up to his potential and putting up career numbers!

I trust Gase's will keep him motivated and he won't end up DG2.0

Here's a hypothetical...
The light comes on for Cutler, everything clicks and we make a deep playoff run... Do you still move on from Cutler even he wants to stick around? Do we draft a young QB and let Tannehill show if he's 100 healthy next season?

Been here a long time and I can tell you I bet there would be posters that were mad if that happened. We could go 14-2 and lose the AFC championship game and the "We should have Signed Kap" threads will be filling up the forum. This place is very predictable, I could make a killing if I could bet on it. Cutler playing very well and having a debate about who should start in 18 would be a disaster to many posters.

What's with all these aging, washed up QB's being listed for interest?

Is Gase an just an offensive mind or is he also this QB guru we seemingly hear about?

Seems as if the latter was the case we could be able to go out and actually acquire a young QB that's needs some development. That would be smarter and thinking ahead with a plan in place for the future instead of just slapping a sloppy patch on the problem.

Behind door #1: How do we do that without having to give up a ton of picks to that team that knows we're desperate with the season starting around the corner?

Behind door #2: Which of those young QBs sitting on the pine just waiting for a chance to start is so damned good that they are a lock to be a starter? Why are they on the pine still waiting for their chance? There aren't that many Aaron Rodgers out there with that much talent and a willingness to wait for their chance.

Behind door #3: Can a team with lots of positions suffering from less than ideal talent levels afford to play the "let's have 2 starting QBs" game?

RT and the Team rolled the dice when they made the decision to not go with surgery to repair the knee. It was always going to be structurally weaker and one hit away from RT heading to IR. Why didn't we draft a backup? I'm sure there were lots of reasons, but I'll go with:

1) We've been rebuilding for a while -- and yet we still have positions were we're seriously exposed. We only have so many draft picks to work with and the team felt the tradeoffs of risking a high level pick for a position of lesser need was a bad one.
2) Teams don't giving up a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round pick for a developmental QB when they have a young QB they believe in.

Has anyone seen if Cutler has taken and passed a physical? Im thinking couldnt have happened yet-
I was thinking about this as well. Figure he's in Miami late afternoon and should be checked out this evening or tomorrow morning. May see him on the field tomorrow throwing.

You claim Cutler is a ****. Gase said otherwise.
You've been watching football for how long. And you don't think cutler is a crybaby cnt? Ok. Gase might like him because of familiarity ....but as far as team players go, Moore wins. As much as I like gase, I really hope this gamble pays off for him.

Gase said Cutlers numbers were better than Thills?

Kind of hairy
In 2015 Cutler threw 21 TD's and 11 picks in 15 games.

In 2016 Ryan Tannehill threw 19 TD's and 12 picks in 13 games.

However Matt Moore threw 8 TD's and 3 picks in 3 games and since he's the worst QB on the face of the earth you'd have to assume Tanny would have thrown 10 -12 more TD's which would blow Cutler away.

How would I know what Cutler is like? The only thing I've ever thought of him was he was nonchalant.

Gase was complimentary about him when he spoke about Cutler a ways back. Would he say he sucks? I doubt it. In this particular situation I'm going by what Gase said.

At least we won't have to worry about the December games in the cold weather with J.C hell his entire career is in the frozen tundra. If he lasts that long that is.

Armando can be such a tool sometimes and I see pulling **** out of his ass is still a trait he can't shake.

Talk about having the excitement and enthusiasm for a brand new season taken from you. I have no interest in watching a Jay Cutler led offense.

Don't get me wrong, I am and always will be a Miami Dolphins fan. If the team does well with Cutler under center, I'll be happy for them. But I just can't get excited about it. I dislike Jay Cutler's game THAT much. I'm not sure there's a player out there that I was would have less excitement for. He's just an awful, awful QB and not a personality I can root for. If he was any good, he would have had a job already rather than as an announcer. But nobody wanted him.

But now, Gase apparently wants him because he's 'familiar' with him. So freaking what? I don't get that. He coached him for ONE freaking season and that makes him a more attractive option?? When Gase first landed in Chicago, he certainly wasn't familiar with him. So why couldn't he have gone with an unfamiliar QB again? And a better one at that. Anyone saying that Gase must believe he's the best option is missing the point, IMO. This is NFL nepotism at it's finest. I'm not a Colin Kaepernick fan, but he's a better QB than Jay Cutler by far, even if not a 'system' fit. Hell, Matt Moore is a better QB than Jay Cutler -- which is exactly why Matt still had a job and Cutler did not.

I'd much rather have seen the Dolphins find a capable and experienced BACKUP QB to Matt Moore than this. You don't pay someone 10M + incentives unless you plan on them being the starter. Cutler is not a starting QB. Everyone has seen that movie already.

This move absolutely sucks.
