Be Honest Who Really Thought Rt Was A Franchise Qb When We Drafted Him.

I thought he had the physical tools to be a great QB but it was always gin Abe about whether he had the mental part. At this point I’d say no. My personal hope is we restructure him and keep him one more year to ease our new QB in. That way we avoid throwing him to the wolves like we did with tannehill, who I remember starting week 1 as a rookie against the best D in the NFL and IN Houston.

When we drafted him no, but I was on board after his third year. Unfortunately that seemed to be his ceiling and he's regressed except for that winning streak in 2016 before getting hurt.

I knew nothing about Tannenhill when he was drafted. I didn't know what to think of it.

He's an above average quarterback, he won't elevate the players around him. He will play at the level his team is.

He's competent, with some tools and some deficiencies. He *could* win a SB, but the team would have to be stacked.

That means he can't be paid at a level where it starts affecting roster construction.

Good guy who works hard and is smart with physical tools. Does not have an innate feel for the game.

The Dolphins never made him compete for his spot on the team, this was an extremely poor decision.

As far as the 8th overall pick goes....he's a bit of a disappointment.

I didnt know either way when he was drafted but after his first season I was pretty certain he wasnt.
What I never expected was this cult that grew around him.
Why not? It happened with Fiedler and it happened with Henne.

RT seems like a great guy just doesn't have all the tools needed to be the franchise guy. Watch Russell Wilson tonight and imagine what he would do if he was on the fins.

The above quote was mine from September 2016. I really liked Mahomes in college.
I vote you to be in charge of personnel because that one sentence makes more sense than anything they have gone after at the qb position post Marino

For the record, I was fine with the pick and have no problem with him. But I don’t care about his personal trajectory or his career. I care about building the Dolphins into a perennial playoff team, and hopefully SB champion.

I don’t think Tannehill is the best we can do at QB, nor that he’s going to be a part of this team when it’s ready, especially after yet another injury. Those are the breaks, but I’m ready to roll the dice on another and hope for better.

RGIII...Heisman trophy winner/2012 ROY...in the 2nd round?

Yeah I really wanted Luck or RG3, when Indy started Painter, it was obvious Luck was only going one place. RG3 landing in Washington was probably the worst thing for both, I still think he could have made it in a better situation. The abuse he took in those first couple of years finished him. Getting him anywhere outside of the top 3 or so would have been consider fantastic value at the time, on hindsight however it is easy to say he would a huge bust.
